Excellent tour! We learned a great deal and enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very nice and answered any questions we had. It was great that she lived in the Castro and was able to provide information that only a local could provide. It is certainly worth your time to spend learning about a great neighborhood in San Francisco. We highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was Kathy Amendola, and she was absolutely fantastic. She was knowledgable, warm, patient, and had a cute sense of humour. She is extremely familiar with the area in its' entirety, and was great at taking questions on the fly. This was not my first trip to San Francisco or the Castro area, but it was my first time taking a tour of this type and I would highly recommend it to others who are interested in learning more about the history behind this well-known gay and lesbian district :

This was so interesting to see how this community has evolved. I really liked that it was a walking tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgable about the gay and lesbian community. I would reccomend this tour to anyone. I also would like to not none of us that took the tour are gay or lesiban just wanted to know everything about the city. We thought this was a great way to understand San Francisco and we were not disappointed.

We met Kathy at Harevry Milk Plaza and commenced our tour once the others had arrived. Kathy is very informative and was a great guide. The impact Harvey Milk made on a community in such a short time is staggering. One of the most poignant things was when we saw where the AIDS quilt was made and Kathy explained how big it is and how it is currently stored. She is correct the quilt needs to be in a museum.

This was the highlight of our trip to San Francisco. Kathy was very knowledgeable and entertaining! You will receive a first hand account from someone who has been truly involved in the Castro culture. I would recommend the tour to anyone gay, straight or otherwise as it will really open your eyes to the drive for equality in America and the history of San Fran. Thanks again Kathy!
