These runs are impressive! Crossing over the border with our guide Omar was super easy and the highway offered smooth sailing. The number of ruins that can be seen and not seen is unbelievable. We highly recommend this tori from San Ignacio.
Very good tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and the history was amazing. Just remember, this is in a jungle and there is lots of walking, so dress accordingly!
Belize Family is an amazingly thorough, responsive company. Not once did I worry about the logistics of traveling or transportation. The drivers were able to find my remotely located Air BNB on the hilltops of San Ignacio for both tours. This tour consisted of ample walking, sightseeing, climbing of stairs, animal watching and the included warm meal didn't hurt.
LOVED this tour so much! Be aware that you will have several drivers over the day, we did not know that and were a bit confused. You'll get picked up and then that driver will help you navigate through the border, but then you'll meet a new driver to take you around Guatamala. Then he will pick up your actual guide on the way. When you get back the drive will drop you off at the border and you'll meet a different drive when you enter back into Belize. The only bad part of this day was our driver was not waiting right there once we crossed back into Belize, our driver had already left not being able to cross the border. Our new drive came in about 10 minutes, but we were a bit worried. Overall, though this was an amazing trip! Tikal was beautiful and the wildlife you see was amazing too.
Very nice trip !! The company was on time, everything including food was perfect ! Thank you !
Very comprehensive tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and made it clear that we would have all the time we wanted to view the various pyramids and temples. We were able to see three species of monkeys and several varieties of birds. The lunch provided was simple, but good. The tour takes a long time - 10-1/2 hours - and is not for anyone who tires easily or cannot walk for several hours.
We had an amazing time touring Tikal National Park. Elmer was an amazing tour guide and is very enthusiastic about his job. We really enjoyed learning so much from him about Maya culture and history. Definitely recommend!
a late start and long wait at the crossing but what a wonderful day beyond my expectations
Tikal is awesome with some amazing views. The border crossing process was very easy, the drive to Tikal was lovely, the tour guides were very knowledgeable and funny, and the lunch that was provided was delicious. This was an overall wonderful tour and I highly recommend it.
An awesome experience! Our guide was very informative and helpful. I highly recommend this tour!
Great tour. Guides and drivers were friendly, funny and full of knowledge and loved to share it. Easy transport to Tikal, fast border crossing, beautiful country and great information along the way. Highly recommended.
LOVED IT! Elmer tour guide was awesome, knowledgeable, and passionate about Tikal which made the experience that much better.
Incredible! Being up close and personal with such history was very exciting. Our guide was very knowledgeable and created a fun atmosphere. Tikal is another world and you have a chance to climb, look into, and be a part of it! Guatemala was also a fun edition to the passport. Easy border crossing!
Great tour. Very informative, gave us about 40 free minutes - I would have loved more, but there's so much time needed for travel. Competitive price.
The only part that wasn't fun was the border crossing, but that's not under their control. Don't forget to bring enough cash for the border crossing.
The trip was great and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our guide at Tikal was very good and provided lots of great information about the ruins as well as the surrounding flora and fauna. We had a great time and really enjoyed our time at Tikal!
Easy trip from San Ignacio. Crossing the border was simple. Guatemala was amazing. Beautiful country. And very friendly people. Tikal was a MUST!!! It is absolutely incredible!!!!! There are so many pyramids to see and climb and the pictures are unbelievable. An absolute must.
We had a wonderful trip to Tikal. The site is amazing. The border crossing process was clearly communicative and fairly easy. There is an amazing scenic drive to the ruins and lunch was provided for us. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about this ancient culture. The views from atop the temples are indescribable. Highly recommend this tour.
Wonderful trip. Strongly recommend tour. Drivers in Belize and Guatemala were good, tour guide alright. Tour and site are remarkable. Worth the price.
This was an excellent tour with an excellent guide....Elmer. A fabulous young man that loves his country and culture. He was so knowledgeable and pleasant. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Wonderful sight and wonderful tour. Border crossing procedures were clearly communicated and the transportation to and from Tikal was excellent. The guide chose our walking tour route to avoid as many crowds as possible. He also had great insight into the history of the site. For future travelers: lunch is late in the afternoon around 2:30PM, so I recommend bringing a snack along.
Lo United Kingdom
Made sure to keep in contact, and as a lone traveller made it very easy for me to join the group. The tour was great, Mr Louis looked after us and showed us everything with a great commentary. Definitely worth going to this site.
Very informative and interesting. The driver and guide had all the details of our border crossing handled. We simply had to pay the departure tax and we were off to Tikal. Highly recommend this tour to Tikal as it is an amazing place to see. The drive from San Ignacio through the Guatemalan countryside is beautiful as well.
First of all, our family saw Chichen Itza first before seeing Tikal because of CI's New 7th Wonder status. However, Tikal, in my opinion, was SO MUCH more better!!!!! DID I SAY THAT?!?!? It may be 2 hours into Guatemala, but it is so worth it. There are a LOT more temples and pyramids to see and climb at Tikal. There are still unearthed temples in plain sight, and archeologists digging around the area while we were there. And being in the middle of the jungle just adds to the ambiance of this place.
Our guide was knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to go to Tikal.
