We had a wonderful trip to Tikal. The site is amazing. The border crossing process was clearly communicative and fairly easy. There is an amazing scenic drive to the ruins and lunch was provided for us. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable. I learned a lot about this ancient culture. The views from atop the temples are indescribable. Highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful sight and wonderful tour. Border crossing procedures were clearly communicated and the transportation to and from Tikal was excellent. The guide chose our walking tour route to avoid as many crowds as possible. He also had great insight into the history of the site. For future travelers: lunch is late in the afternoon around 2:30PM, so I recommend bringing a snack along.

Made sure to keep in contact, and as a lone traveller made it very easy for me to join the group. The tour was great, Mr Louis looked after us and showed us everything with a great commentary. Definitely worth going to this site.

Very informative and interesting. The driver and guide had all the details of our border crossing handled. We simply had to pay the departure tax and we were off to Tikal. Highly recommend this tour to Tikal as it is an amazing place to see. The drive from San Ignacio through the Guatemalan countryside is beautiful as well.

First of all, our family saw Chichen Itza first before seeing Tikal because of CI's New 7th Wonder status. However, Tikal, in my opinion, was SO MUCH more better!!!!! DID I SAY THAT?!?!? It may be 2 hours into Guatemala, but it is so worth it. There are a LOT more temples and pyramids to see and climb at Tikal. There are still unearthed temples in plain sight, and archeologists digging around the area while we were there. And being in the middle of the jungle just adds to the ambiance of this place.

Awesome experience and worth the money.

A driver picked us up from our San Ignacio hotel and took us to the border where he handed us off to their Guatemalan counterpart who then drove us 2 hours to Tikal. We picked up our guide, Elmer, on the way. Elmer asked if we prefer a tour in Spanish or in terrible English. Since we don't speak Spanish we opted for terrible English : And to our surprise Elmer spoke English perfectly! He was so knowledgable about the site and Guatamala in general, fun to listen to and spend time with. He has a great eye and spotted almost all of the wildlife he had told us about on the drive over! It was a fun perk to see them all.

Tikal is phenomenal, mind-blowing! We are so glad we opted for a longer tour to visit the most impressive ancient Mayan site in the area.

We were also fed a snack of green mango and oranges with pumpkin powder. A fun native treat! Lunch was also served on the way back at a restaurant. Fajitas were on the menu.

The trip to Tikal was comfortable and well worth it. Our guide, Elmer, knew so much about the flora, history and culture of the Mayas. He was fabulous! San Ignacio was the perfect spot to stay to get to the jungle.

While the actual experience of being in Tikal is extraordinary and an unbelievable sight, our guide was nothing thrilling. It seemed as though we were interrupting his day and although he was knowledgeable he seemed completely uninterested in guiding us. The free lunch was decent.
