Perfect day out. The team that handed the trip is phenomenal and took care of the participants admirably! Do not miss it.
Cruise to Tortuga was absolutely amazing! Note, price does not include island activities snorkeling, banana boat etc.. This was the best tour in CR. You are guaranteed to enjoy!
It was amazing experience!! the crew was outstanding and hospitality was really great... would definitely recommend this tour to everyone...
This is the most amazing crew ever! You will experience EXCELLENT customer service on this day trip. Be prepared for a long bus ride followed by a long ferry ride. The entertainment crew do their best to make the ferry ride a party though. My only qualm with the ferry ride was the jaccuzzi. It was in the way and splashing all of the customers as the ferry naturally rocked with the sea waves. You have the option of sitting on the lower deck which is air conditioned to avoid this, but then you miss the party.
As for Tortuga, it's the prettiest beach you'll see in Costa Rica. I'm from the Caribbean, so it doesn't quote compare to our beaches, but it's nice. You have to pay for any activities once you get there, but I knew that from reading reviews beforehand 15 snorkeling, 5 to do a self-guided hike, and a banana boat option that I did not participate in.
All in all, it was a fun day, and I'm glad that we got to experience it.
Very relaxing. Boat ride was ideal. Excellent food at the Island. Another long day but well worth the long day.
An absolute must when you visit Costa Rica. The beach is serene and includes multiple activities (jet skiing, snorkeling, etc), and the crew is loads of fun. I would go again and again!
It's a long time but the tour was amazing! Our guide Josue was a great guide and knew his stuff. The catamaran ride to and from the island was entertaining. Also you are able to see other protected island. The best part for me was the trail part where you can see different plant species.
It was so much fun and the crew were amazing. The food was delicious and the island was breathtaking. The weather was perfect andbwe saw whales as well.
This was a great day! From the bus ride early in the morning until I was delivered safely back to my hotel in the evening, everything was just what one would wish for - the interesting, enjoyable cruise on the catamaran, the lovely beach, great food and drinks handed to me every few minutes. We saw a whale on the return cruise and the captain slowed the boat for a long time so we might get another look. No hurrying at all.
Most of all I want to compliment the crew and hosts. I am a solo traveler and was the only English-speaker in the group so I was pretty clueless much of the time. But it didn't matter, because the hosts looked out for me. One in particular, Josh, was especially helpful in helping me navigate through the day. Thank you Josh! It's much appreciated.
I'll be back.
WoW!!! What an absolute blast!!! The vessel crew was very catering from the vessel to the beach and back. A whole day laying on the beach while they bring you fresh coconut with rum, play volleyball, read a book, feed you a delicious meal, live music and even baby turtles found their way to enjoy our day.
The fun didn't end when we boarded the vessel to go home. The crew played music and entertained the whole way back with salsa dancing and singing galore. SO MUCH FUN!!!
The hotel pickup was 15 minutes late, and the pickup at other hotels continued for the next hour. But I am not complaining because it was good to see more of the city during that ride. The trip was beyond my expectations. The bus was so comfortable, clean, and has AC. The bus driver was good. Breakfast was a sandwich, apple, and juice was good. Our tour guide and all the other staff were very, very friendly. The boat ride was amazing! It was clean, and there was the entertainment crew who were lovely. Fruit and drinks were served on our ride to the island and on the way back. The island was OK- wasn't clear or crystal blue, nothing breathtaking. It was just nice to meet other travellers and chilling on the beach, or other activities were available at our own cost other people seemed to have had a good time. Lunch was also delicious-we had chicken, fish, rice, veggies, and had some free soft drinks. Overall, this tour was very pleasant :
Very relaxing day at the beach. Staff was friendly. It was interesting to see how staff prepared the food on the island. I would recommend this tour.
We really enjoyed our Tortuga Island adventure. ..the staff couldn't have been nicer or worked harder, to ensure that we had a nice time! The entertainers were great and lots of fun. Food was very good and the island was picturesque. Be sure to wear your beach shoes though...the beach was very pebbly! One suggestion to Viator...on our reservation it said to phone the office within 48 hours of departure to confirm pickup at our hotel. May we suggest EMAIL ING the office with that request, so that both will have something in writing and it would be easier for those coming from different countries.
Great tour! The guides were bilingual and very knowledgeable. The live music on the boat was great as well as the lunch served on the island. I did the snorkeling excursion and the marine life was plentiful.
Definitely a must do when visiting Costa Rica. We had so much fun on the catamaran with the live music and wonderful sights of the various islands we passed by. Lunch and the beach was perfect very clean and calm water to swim in. Crew were very helpful and friendly in making sure everything was comfortable for us.
Wow what an incredible experience! The ride was 2 hours but with the live band and entertainment the two hours went fast. The tour provided breakfast, filling snacks and a very filling lunch with fresh fish and chicken. On the island we had had a wonderful time! We enjoyed stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and also were able to lay out on the beach with fresh coconut water. What an amazing experience! I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing the beauty of San Jose. Thank you for such a wonderful tour!
Great People,good times,well worth doing. Thank's
U and C,Canada.
All I can say is wow, what a wonderful day, the weather for us was perfect, the ride to the island was very nice, small band on boat that kept you entertained. I do highly recommend this. they do have chairs and umbrella for rent if you need to get out of the sun. Water was wonderful and lunch provided was very good. I do highly recommend this trip to Tortuga Island.
Great tour! There was so much to do and everyone was so friendly. The food was good and so was the service and entertainment. Overall it was a great experience, definitely would return
This was a great trip. It was a long trip and I feel like I got more than my money's worth. The boat ride was nice because you can move around and enjoy the entertainment. They go all out to make you confortable even when you are on the island. Of course anything you plan on doing on the island will cost extra but that's expected. The lunch on the beach was good. it was cooke fresh right on the island. They bring all the raw food on boad and take everything back at the end of the day. it was neat to see how much work they put in to make your trip enjoyable. I will not forget this tour...
Overall this turned out to be a very nice trip for me. I don't care too much for the beach but needed to go to at least one while in CR. I was picked up at the Real Intercontinental Hotel in Escazu. And taken to a drop off point to get on a tour bus. This is the part of the trip I had a issue with. That was the most compact tour bus I had ever been on. I felt that for as much as I paid for the trip I could have a little more room. I know I know, it's just how I felt. Moving on, we were given a little sack meal for breakfast. It was a ham and cheese sandwich, juice box and an apple. I have seen other reviews where people didn't appreciate that. To me it was fine, it hit the spot. I believe we drove for an hour and a half or so to the docks to get on the catamaran. It was nice it had a bar and we were served snacks for the ride to Tortuga Island. I believe it was an hour and a half cruise to the island. Very picturesque island. Clean and neat. There were a few activities to do, banana boat ride, jet ski, eco-tour of the island and just chilling. We were served lunch after about an hour of being there. It was pretty good. There was a guy singing karaoke. I love karaoke so this was great. If I had drank just one more Imperial I would have gone up to sing with him. After lunch we had about 3 or 4 more hours to do whatever. There is a gift shop that sells a little bit of everything and they rent lockers so you can store your things. Please do this if you decide to ride the Banana boats, they get flipped pretty regularly. The most awesome part of this trip was meeting the local friendly Peccary. I had never seen one before and it came right up to my beach chair and wanted me to cover it in sand. I obliged him. There were also tropical parrots and some chickens roaming around. On the cruise back they gave us fresh pineapple and watermelon as well as some delicious carrot cake and drinks. It was a nice experience.
