This tour was amazing! The guys are funny and very knowledgeable. A great welcome to Puerto Rico treat.
One of the best tours on our trip! Our guides, Kevin and Manolo, were awesome! They're super knowledgeable, very hilarious and they play off each other like twin brothers! We were a small group and they were attentive to all our needs. They made this experience that more enjoyable. They made sure that we saw what we were there to see and that is the plankton/organisms in the water. I would definitely take this tour again and will recommend to everyone!
We were picked up at our hotel and traveled about an hour to the beach. Members of the group ranged from about 9 to 70 years. After a brief explanation of the tour and a safety review, we boarded our kayaks and paddled through a mangrove forest into a fresh water lagoon. After sundown, we began to look into the water for flashes of light. Unfortunately, the luminescence was low due to the time of year and a full moon. Paddling back to the ocean through the narrow channel, with moonlight filtering through the mangrove canopy, was a great experience. The guides were experienced and helpful to anyone needing assistance.
Could someone please let me know where my pictures are on facebook? They were taken by our wonderful guides, but i do not remember the where they said they were posted.
I would recommend this tour, but check the moon calendar for the best times.
Wonderful trip. The guides Michael, Kevin were well organized and very helpful. the luminescence was cool like little shooting stars but the trip through the mangroves was really the very best part of the trip--- so fun to kayak through the canopy and into the open lagoon. very glad we did this.
driver Michael was excellent as well--- I felt like I got a great view of Puerto Rico.
Staff was very entertaining. Fun tour for my teen daughter as well. Entire trip was enjoyable and fun.
So wonderful! The tour guides MADE this trip, especially our guy Manolo! We had a fantastic time :
Took 16 students on this tour and the tour guides were very patient with them!!
The tour guides were a lot of fun and kept us engaged the whole time.
Great trip, the guides Michael and Kevin were very entertaining.
Loved it! The entire staff from the van driver to the kayak guides were friendly and wonderful. It was quite an experience paddling in the dark through a narrow channel but when you arrive out in the lagoon-spectacular! We even saw a shooting star in the sky,
The tour was fantastic, and the guides provided exceptional service. They set expectations well and clearly, made sure everyone was paired up and had a life vest fitted properly, led us thru the dark mangrove waterway safely, and were as humorous as they were kind.
It was fun for me, although we left a bit late in the evening and a few people on our tour were really unhappy since they had no experience kayaking especially at night through thick jungle like growth and they were feeling yelled at :. It was good overall though. Not worth doing twice.
Some folks who did other tours said that the rain forest trip was better.
go barefoot or wear water shoes. do not plan to bring a camera or phone because it won't capture the glow on film. the trip to the bay was about 1.5 miles. once at the bay we waited for the sun to go down then we splashed the water. the glow is quick and almost looks like shooting stars. there was also jelly fish in the water that glowed. all was very cool. the trip back to land was very difficult in the dark. we couldn't see and kept crashing into trees. luckily the guide hooked us to his kayak and he lead the way.
before we stopped at the bay we went to a local restaurant where our driver told us to eat. we didn't read anywhere about there being dinner so we already ate before we came. wish we knew that there would be time to eat dinner before the bay.
While the crew was a bit off the wall they made the trip fun and good care of us. Well worth the time and money. However the promised pictures on Facebook never appeared.
The kayak tour to Bioluminescent Bay was good. The guides were excellent, funny too. They made the trip do-able. There is a lot of paddling to get to the bay so this isn't a couch potato trip for the sedentary. The glow of the plankton was good not as bright as I imagined. However, when will you ever have a chance like this again? Just do it. One thing I have to say about this trip is there are 2 persons to a kayak so if your party is an odd number, you'll be split. This should be in the information part before you buy this trip.
I truly enjoyed this tour. At first I was nervous because I did not have a partner but Michael, one of the guides partnered up with me and made the tour great. Make sure you eat dinner before you go..
A great exciting trip, loved the enthusiastic guides who really took care of us gave us a lot of help if we got stuck in the kayak. We really enjoyed this tour the only thing lacking was we never saw any Bioluminescent in the lake but trip was really exciting.
Even though the water isn't lit up as in the pictures, it was a wonderful trip. Be warned that the water looks like any other water. You have to you have to put your arm in the water and stir like crazy to see the bioluminescence and then it is just like tiny flashes of light. But the scenery going out there was beautiful and the guides were so much fun. Coming back was an adventure in itself. It is very peaceful and serene in the Bay. Have fun.
It was fun but definitely not what you see on all the websites! Those photos are majorly photo-shopped! The crew members were nice and entertaining. The driver was great! I wish the group sizes were a little smaller, but overall it was good!
This was a very enjoyable experience. I went by myself, and was paired with a friendly gentleman, who had no previous kayaking experience. We laughed and tried to avoid running into other people and low tree branches. I would recommend scheduling this tour for after the full moon, to truly enjoy the bioluminescence. It was interesting to see the organisms lighting up, but was not as good as what I expected. The entire experience was enjoyable, and the tour guides were very entertaining. Definitely will do it again, after the full moon.
This was on my bucket list. I enjoyed it, but like most Eco tours, they arn and #39;t as good as they used to be. We were told the and #34;glow and #34; has steadily declined in the last 11 years. We had to hold tarps over our canoe to make it dark just to see them.
