The plankton are on low glow right now, but it was still a fantastic experience. Nestor was an excellent guide, and kayaking to the lagoon through a mangrove forest was a unique, wonderful experience. Highly recommended.

The kayak adventure was awesome! My wife, 13 year old daughter and 15 year old son all joined me for this trip. We all loved it. There were people of all kayak skill levels from 'never been on a kayak' to those of us who have a lot of experience. If you want an adventure, are not scared of the dark or the water then I would say do not miss this one! Our guides were awesome and made everyone feel comfortable and safe!

This is such a neat experience. So GLAD we did it. There were mixed reviews about it but we took a chance on it and thought it was so worth it!! Definitely pay attention to the moon phases, we went a week and a half passed the full moon and it was great. Also we went on the earlier tour not sure how to book the later one that left after 8pm but if you can do the later tour I think it would be even better and you will see the plankton in the mangroves on your way to and from the the lake as well. It was awesome and would recommend it to anyone. Also if you have a gopro or something and can record it that would be great, but keep in mind that your hands are busy with the kayaking, so maybe do a helmet mount or chest mount. You will just want to capture the water not the people so much as the phenomenon of the glow is amazing so you don't need to worry about it too dark to see people.

This was an amazing kayak experience that is beyond words to describe. We did very well overall even though we lacked the experience of kayaking. The guide gave very good kayak instructions for us. The bioluminescent bay is phenomenal. The best way I can describe it is when you paddled or put your hand in the water and moved it about it made the organism spark. It looked like the sparkles a fireworks sparkler makes to me. It was a bucket list trip and a must see.

Excellent! Everything was very organized and ran on schedule. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and very patient. The bioluminescent was not as vivid as portrayed in the pictures but it was nice to see and definitely something you should at least see once in your life time. I brought my 67 year old mother with me and she had a wonderful time.

Amazing trip! We got poured on the last five minutes while we were trying to dock which made for quite the exciting end! I would definitely do this again!

Seeing the water light up at night with each stroke of the oar was great. We were happy that the tour picked us up because we would have never found it on our own.
The canal from the bay was crowded but because everyone wants to go. Guides were okay.

Absolutely a MUST DO in PR! Impossible to capture the beauty of this experience on camera, you must do it yourself.
Yes, it's dark on the way back, but absolutely worth the trip.

A truly amazing experience. Seeing the water glow a neon blue when disturbed was just amazing. My wife and I got out a little bit from the group and saw a school of fish underwater...that was really cool. Looked like 40 or 50 little blue blurs darting in the water. Also saw a really big fish that left a big blue streak across the water. Very highly recommend this to anyone who goes to Puerto Rico!
The paddle wasn't too bad - just be ready for a little frustration because rarely in my life have I experienced dark (like the complete absence of any light at all!) like that. Couple that with some of the kayaks not having lights on the back made for an interesting trip back. Would this stop me from going back? Heck no! It was amazing! Best part of the trip!

Had a great time! Definitely one of the best things we did in Puerto Rico. The driver was on time and friendly, and the staff was knowledgeable and fun. We loved the kayaking, and having to do it in the dark was part of the adventure. You dont need to be an expert kayaker, but be prepared to get a bit of a workout, especially crossing the slightly choppy bay to the mangrove forest. The staff supplies bugspray, but the bugs werent all that bad. They are right that the bioluminescence (although very pretty!) does not show up on camera. Overall a very unique experience.

Pleasantly surprised!!! I booked this trip prior to leaving on Vacation. Traveled with my 3 teenage boys and husband. I was giving incorrect information about the # of people per Kayak. Other than that, it was wonderful. 2 per Kayak. Easy to Kayak and maneuver thru the mangrove! The bioluminescent was amazing to experience but once in the bay the constellation of the stars was so impressive. Personally the ride thru the mangrove and the star show made this the best experience ever. Go on the 6pm so that you can experience some light while kayaking thru the mangrove. Take this trip and book it with Viator. Have fun.

Tour was great. Guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Only downside was a full moon, although beautiful while paddling in the mangroves, made it hard to see the bioluminescence. Next time, will plan to go on a new moon.
