Louis was above amazing as a guide for he has taken the time to learn the history of Puerto Rico and interesting facts that a tourist wouldn't know about the island. Sadly most of the roads in El Yunque park were destroyed and currently closed, but we did see the mountain, waterfalls and had a lovely time.
We were picked up right at our hotel door and when our tour of the Forest was finished Louis took our group to a local grocery store so we could all purchase packaged local coffees to take home. The grocery store pricing for coffee is SO MUCH less expensive than at the gift shops or at the airport. The grocery store stop was a nice surprise and so appreciated.
Louis was wonderful - highly recommend touring the National Park with Louis.

Be ready to get muddy and wet and have a amazing time in the El Yunque rainforest. My driver/guide Alex was great. Because of the two hurricanes San Juan has experienced the walking trails are gone. We walked true rainforest, climbing hills and walking true streams. I loved it. I wore and recommend water shoes. One of the ladies had on Teva the strap broke because when you step in the mud it pulls your shoes when you step out. Alex gave her his shoes and he walked barefooted. You will get the chance to swin and slide off the rocks. If you like truly being outdoors you will love this tour as I did.
This was a last minute booking and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide was wonderful and so glad we did the whole day and not the half day experience. You wont be disappointed the scenery was breathtaking. Money and day well spent.
Absolutely wonderful trip. We were fortunate to have a very small group of 6 our family of 4, and a newlywed couple and a truly phenomenal guide, Omar Rodriguez. Omar was knowledgeable, upbeat, organized, and had a wealth of knowledge about all of the various fauna as well as the history of the area. He was accommodating to our needs, and let us go at our own pace, and because our group was small I felt like we received very individualized attention. The hike through the rainforest was amazing. It was a short mile in, mile out and easy hike followed by spending some time at the observation tower, viewing two beautiful waterfalls, and then a visit to a very interactive and informative visitor center. After about 5 hours in the rainforest, Omar took us to a small restaurant for lunch were we had some of the best and least expensive food during our stay. Absolutely amazing excursion that was informative, fun, and gave us all a really good introduction to the rainforest.
A wonderful trip if you can walk narrow paths up and down for at least an hour. Great tour guide!
El Yunque National Forest was wonderful to visit. The hike was not difficult. Our guide, Alex, was very knowledgeable an accommodating.
We did the full day trip. I wish it was a little bit longer because I really enjoy hiking. But I think that it is good for all types of people. Our tour guide was awesome. He was super knowledgeable and very nice. We didn't swim in the falls because there was a lot of people.
So we didn't actually get to do the half day tour. We were the only 2 people booked and they needed at least 6. Instead we switched to the full day tour for 20 more. The tour that we ended up going on was great! We had a really fun time and are glad that we didn't just cancel when we couldn't do the half day
We were the only people on the 1/2 day tour and ended up being with a group on a full day tour. After purchasing we were advised the tour would not start at 8 am as specified, but would start at 9:30 am. We waited in the hotel lobby trying to call until 10:45 am. When we expressed concern because of the late start we were told not to worry, we would return at the same time as advertised. When we said this would mean our tour would be short-changed, there was no response. Since there is a no-refund policy we tried to make the best of it. The tour guide was personable and tried to please but the experience was very disappointing - the bus was bumpy and uncomfortable and we couldn't hear most of what our guide said because we were in the back seats and there was no microphone. Despite being eager to see the visitor's center we were not allowed to disembark there because it was not included in the full day tour - note it was included in the 1/2 day tour we purchased. We ended up being met by a taxi at the midpoint of the full day tour and taken back to our hotel. I won't purchase a non-refundable tour from Viator again we didn't get what we paid for.
I wish I could give this zero stars. I never even went on the trip because when I showed up, the tour guide was incredibly rude about the way I was dressed closed sandals and a summer dress. I know it is suggested to wear comfortable clothes and for me, that is comfort, so it should not matter to anyone else. He said to me, You're too fancy. You do know we are going to the RAINforest, right? RAAIIINNN made raining motion and said loud and slowly like I was some kind of idiot. I said that yes, I was aware of the trip I booked and that I have been in a rainforest before, so I know what to expect. He offered to take me somewhere to buy appropriate clothes and I declined because I did not want to hold up the tour nor did I want to spend money on things I did not need or would wear again. His response was that I was the superstar of the trip and that he'd miss me. It was very inappropriate and I do not appreciate being singled out and put on the spot in a group of people. It was infuriating and a complete waste of 65, since the tour sales are final. I was offered to re-schedule for the next day, but I was so disgusted, I didn't even want to bother. Plus, I did not want to run the risk of having that same tour guide. I have had good luck with Viator in other locations, but whatever company they are using for these tours...NEVER AGAIN. Also, prior to the trip, my pick-up location was bounced around 3 times and I had to call repeatedly to re-confirm the booking and find out what was going on. It was like pulling teeth to get any straight info.
