I had a wonderful experience. I completed the tour with Tashia. She was so wonderful and friendly. We didn't stay at a hotel and didn't know what to expect in terms of us getting picked up, but she picked us right at our Airbnb. On the way to the rainforest we stopped at a charming side of the rode fruit store. Then on the drive to the rainforest she was very informative and knowledgeable as a guide telling us things about the local area. The hike itself wasn't that look or too strenuous for me as a young relatively fit person. The path was pretty muddy, so expect to get dirty. Then we got to the swimming hole at the river and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the water. Tashia was friendly enough to cut up fresh fruit to snack on while there. After the hike she took us a strip with tons of restaurants, with lots of verity, and the food was delicious.

Tips are wear your bathing suit under clothes on the hike in. Have bug spray, and sunscreen. Wear long pants to prevent put bites. Be prepared to get very muddy. Have good sneakers you don't mind getting dirty. Bring a back pack with a towel, watershoes or flip flops because the ground at the swimming hole is rocky. Bring a change of clothes to keep with you in the car that you can change into after the hike.

I would recommend this tour to everyone.

You must take this tour! Manuel was an amazing guide. The hike was a little rough at first, but became easier as we went along. The fruit we ate at our stop was the best fruit I've ever eaten, and the sights were incredible.

Fantastic even for a middle aged person with bad knees. Lol. The guide was great.

This trip is a great opportunity to see beautiful countryside beyond but close to San Juan, and to learn about Puerto Rican natural and political history from a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. If you're looking for a rigorous hiking experience, this isn't it. But our goal was to access the beautiful rainforest, and not in a group so large that the space would be overwhelmed by us, so this was just right. The last stop is lunch at a roadside place with a variety of good local options - it was rather late in the day by the time we ate and we ended up cancelling dinner reservations. We'd highly recommend this trip with Fico, a wonderful guide!

This was well worth it! I booked this for me and my 16 year old son. It was only 4 of us total. Our tour guide, Manuel, was fantastic. If you want a real-deal and less tourist-y type of adventure, this is the one to do. There was an older man on the trip and Manuel was very patient and hands-on making sure he had a safe hike. He also taught us a lot about the vegetation and forestry of the forest. We went to a deserted beach, had popular roadside authentic cuisine 5, drank from a coconut alongside the road from a guy selling local fruit 2, and then proceeded to our hike in the rainforest. The hike is not easy. Granted, we went in mid-May and the weather was sunny and about 80-85, perfect conditions. I would imagine this hike is quite difficult in muddy conditions. Theres a lot of climbing, digging your hands in the dirt for a good grip, and it was quite steep. Its not a paved trail type of hike, but if youre an expert hiker or simply brave and adventurous, its a good one. Im a 40 year old woman, not very athletic but strong bodied and I could handle it just fine. I absolutely loved this adventure and would do it again in a heartbeat.
