I wrote a review immediately after our tour, but it did not go through, so I'm sorry to report I can't remember our wonderful tour hostess's name. My apologies. Nonetheless, this tour was the highlight of our visit to San Sebastian. It is the perfect way to get the best Pintxos from several bars matched with excellent wine. Having done pub crawls on our own with mixed results and/or not knowing what to order, this approach is the only way to go. In addition to a great guide, we had a fun mixed crowd of 12, mostly couples, which added to the experience. Plenty of food too! We went to seven places. No one left hungry. If you are going to visit San Sebastian book this tour!
We had a great tour with Ane on a Sunday evening. The food was spectacular, the wine was appropriate as well as plentiful and the company was friendly. Initially, I thought that the price of this tour was a bit high, however by the end of the evening, we felt that it was a bargain.
We scheduled the tour for the beginning of our visit to San Sebastian and it was a tremendous introduction to eating pintxo.
Great tour, great pintxas and wine! Our guide, Arantxa sp? was a tour leader and wonderfully knowledgeable about San Sebastian. Great 4 hours.
Excellent guide and tour. Highly recommend. We have done 5 or 6 food tours around Europe and this was one of the best.
First, let me say that Ane, our wonderful food guide was extraordinary. Knowledgable, charming, informative, local and an excellent English speaker. She guided us to 6 bars where we had a wonderful variety of pintxos. Who could have guessed the importance of a toothpick. Let me say that this was food fit for any foodie. The cheesecake was as light as helium and better than any I have had in the USA. The whole pintxos bar hopping scene is a bit intimidating at first. It really helps having a guide like Ane to help you learn the ropes. I can not speak highly enough about the tour or our new food friend, Ane.
I apologize if this is a repeat review but I think my first posting did not go through.
Excellent tour, highly recommend! The guide, Arantxa, was very friendly and knowledgable. She took us to some great Pinxos bars and explained all about the food and history of the town. Was also pleased with the friendliness of the other guests on the tour. Great time!
Over the top! Vicki was our guide and she was perfect. The food was incredible. Fun group for the tour, too. I can't say enough about how good the food was. Unforgettably delicious.
Inego was very sensitive to our requests and made good choices of the pintxos and wine pairing. We went back to try some of the bars ourselves but the freshness, and taste were not as good. The tour is really worth it. The down side is standing outside the bars for 3 hours in the heat.
Ella was an amazing guide full of knowledge about San Sebastián history and food. I ate some of the best tapas of my trip on this tour. They have the local knowledge and will order what is best at each bar giving you a wide range of foods and flavors. i highly recommend this tapa tour!
Friendly warm and knowledgable are the words we will use to describe the experience last evening. Lourdes made us feel so welcome and she shared her stories of this beautiful city. The food and wine were to die for,. Our group blended so well, we all felt like good friends by the end of the tour. Lourdes as promised sent us an email with all the details of the places we visited and the food we ate. We have three more days in this amazing city so will make the most of our time, despite it raining as I write.
We chose the tour on other reviews who recommended we started our stay with the tour and we have to agree. We now feel more confident in going into a bar nd choosing our wine and food.
One of the absolute highlights if my time in San Sebastian was my pintxos tour with Elli. We visited some of the top stops, sampled fantastic wine and pintxos until I felt like I could eat any more.
Beyond providing the food and drink, Elli was a superb guide. an absolute must.
I went on this tour on the 5th of April and I was very impressed. Our lovely local guide, Arantxa, did an amazing job. She was very attentive and ordered the right wine/food pairings and quantities in every pintxo bar. Also, she was very accommodating everyone's food preferences: we had a pregnant lady, a seafood allergy and a gluten allergy, and she did not have any issues suggesting great alternatives to them. The food and wine included in the tour is abundant and divine! Arrive hungry to this tour. Totally recommended.
I expected (and hoped) for a lot of good food, but I definitely didn’t expect the amount and quality of all the pintxos we had! I ate so much on this tour that I even skipped breakfast the day after. We visited 5 bars on the tour, and had 3 ‘raciones’ or pintxos on each one, paired with white or red wine. The guide suggested what to eat on each bar based on their specialty, but she was open to changes (she paid the bar full price on the spot so it was easy to change, and I felt her suggestions were truly based on her experience). There was also a non-fish eater and a gluten-free person on the group, and they ate as much as anyone else. I felt it was definitely worth the price – a few days later I am still thinking of some of the pintxos I had and some of the white I drank (which I went to buy the day after). Can’t recommend it enough!
Fantastic experience, our tour guide was well informed and not only introduced us to a variety of tastings but also was able to tell us the history of San Sebastián.
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and so accommodating. He was also delightful to be with. The pinxtos exceeded our expectations. We liked the bars we visited on the tour so much that we went back to several of them again. Thanks for a great experience!!
Amazing experience our tour guide Lourdes was great and really looked after us. The food was fantastic and we now know how to go about the pintos bars with confidence.

Went to some really good restaurants in a small group. Lovely food and social connection with others.
This was simply the best tour we have been on, and the best intro to San Sebastian, its food, wine and people. Our guide, Lourdes, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very keen to share her city and her insider's connections with everyone in the group. The group was small and I think everyone had a good time. The food was great, the wine good, interesting and plentiful if one wished, the local history interesting and relevant as we walked between venues, and we were greeted in each bar as the guide's friends. The Basque cheesecake, with its creme brulee-like top, was simply great and I don't really like cheesecake - but we went back next day for more. Especially with a glass of pedro ximinez. I would happily do this tour again and recommend it to anyone who likes wine, food, friendship and life.
We had Ane as our tour guide for the San Sebastián Pintxos food tour. She was passionate, enthusiastic, and full of knowledge and excitement about each and every stop. Before we got started she even took us to a couple of places to explain the Basque history to us, and her being born there made it that much more authentic. It was evident she had a true love for basque style and cuisine. We enjoyed each and every stop, as she knew each restaurants signature Pintxos. We never would have known to order these delicious bites without her guidance. She explained the history of the Pintxos and paired each of them to the perfect wine to complement the flavors. We loved how popular she was as everyone knew her and was waving and saying hello to her in the streets. My wife and I enjoyed the tour so much, that the next night we stopped at a few of the spots that Ane introduced us to. It was a fantastic lesson and tour and we loved our friendly guide. It also gave us an opportunity to meet other food lovers like ourselves on the tour, in which we grabbed drinks with them afterwards. I highly recommend this tour in San Sebastián and requesting to let Ane lead the way.
The tour guide was EXCELLENT, full of life and customizing her discussions to our questions. She had pre-arranged visits and menu, but changed some of the selections due to our dietary requirements. The group was fun and it was more at least three hours. HOWEVER, I was sick for two days after. I connected with two of the other members of our group, and also had gastro problems for two days later. It was obviously something that was served to us. I did not exchange emails with others on the trip, so I don't know whether or not they too had stomach issues.
Our guide was excellent or better but the experience ifyou like to be crammed into a elevator or smaller and stand for 3 hours in that same space great, but I guess thats the experience. Try eating in that space
