This was such a wonderful experience! The trip was well organized, the Redwoods were amazing and the Steam Train ride was so much fun. We've already recommended this to some of our friends the next time they're in the Santa Cruz area. The experience was very affordable and well worth the time.
Fun even though the train cars were off track and we were delayed.
Family-friendly camp venue with nostalgic steam train ride up a mountain through a redwood forest. Afterward, panning for gold and lunch onsite. Free admission to neighboring state park for hiking in redwoods. Highly recommended!!
We love the train ride and would recommend it to anyone going to Monterey/Carmel area
A great escape to the redwoods. The commentary was informative and we learned something about redwoods. After the train ride, it was nice to take the short nature trail. The Henry Cowell Redwoods State park is next door and it is a short stroll over to there for more trails and the visitor center.
very cool steam engine train ride through the tall red woods neat little town with the general store and the working water tower for the train to refuel
My sisters and I LOVED Roaring Camp Steam Train Through the Santa Cruz Redwoods! Such lovely scenery and history! Narrator had a great script and delivery! Thanks so much for a wonderful time!
Tour was better than I thought! Thought it was gonna be fun for our niece but it ended up being amazing for all of us! The redwoods are breathtaking
We have relatives from out of town and they loved this train through redwood! We will definitely take future guests to California here! It was great and priced just right! Thanks!
I would highly recommend this. The tour was great. Had trouble hearing the conductor over the train noise and whistle but was a very informative tour.
This place has changed SO MUCH since we were there umpteen years ago. Very pleasant day. Beautiful scenery pleasant, helpful staff. Lovely day.
It was a great trip I planned for my husbands birthday. Everyone was so friendly and there is more there than just a train. An old general store with items I have not seen in years and a concession stand as well as beautiful landscape and displays.
It was a fun exeriemce. The crew was very nice!! If you like, nature, trains and history this is a must!
It was very nice. However, the commentary was hard to hear at all, especially sitting on the cart right behind the locomotive. So, we just enjoy the scenery of redwoods and the battle re-enactment was fantastic in the middle of the journey. The ride was nice and long enough for the worth.
My 2 year old especially enjoyed riding the roaring camp train. The cars are open, which I wish I had know ahead of time as I would have dressed better for the cool January weather or brought blankets for our laps. Also be aware that there is a parking fee of 8/vehicle. Before or after your ride the train you can walk around Roaring Camp town, which is fun. All in all a great family day!
It was a very enjoyable and relaxing experience. We had a quick lunch there before heading off on our tour which was very informative and uplifting experience. The views were breath taking and over all a very worthwhile change of pace on a gorgeous sunny day.
We loved the ride through God's amazing big trees. Great info along the way and do much beauty.
Took me by surprise. It was my first time there. I took two of my grand children along and my daughter. It was Easter weekend and I didn't know they had something for the kids as far as bunny rabbit waving to you and egg hunt. We enjoyed the ride. The only thing I was a bit disappointed is the food.
Beautiful area. Fun experience, a little dull, no view at the top and crammed with people. We could wait to go back to the beach again! They should have some extra theatre on the journey up the top.
