Excellent tour. We had great views of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar and a closer look from street level. On time pick up at hotel. Comfortable vehicle, Angelica was a very knowledgeable and outgoing guide. The trip back takes some time but lots of interesting sights or good for a nap.
This was a great day trip and we were very glad we decided to do it. There were seven of us on the tour and we were picked up at our hotel in Santiago. All along the way the tour guide gave us good information. She could answer our questions and knew all about the area. The best part was that they knew exactly where to take us in Valparaiso for the best walking tour! We walked through the upper neighborhoods, on the most interesting streets. Great views, murals on the walls, colorful buildings- it was all better than we had thought. We ended the walk down at the waterfront, where we then drove to Vina del Mar. There we had lunch right at the ocean and had time to go out on the beach. Both the tour guide and driver were excellent!

It was amazing, the highlight was the flower clock. Would recommend though that guests has the opportunity to choose their own option of where to have lunch. The guide must also be very specific on time allocations, otherwise great expierence thank you
Our guide Jaime is wonderful and attentive. This is a great value tour. The only thing I wish is we could spend a little more time in Valparaiso, everything else is great.
This was a very pleasant day and the guide led us to a restaurant with a wonderful view in Valparaiso lunch at own cost. The funicular ride promised to be very interesting but after waiting for quite a while for our turn, we got in and traveled about 40 metres when it stopped. Eventually the funicular returned to its starting point and we were let out. It broke and was subsequently shut down for the day. I would have loved to spend more time exploring the street art.
I've traveled around the world and have had opportunities to do various activities and excursions, and by far this was one of the best experiences I had. Jaime facebook...jaime chilevivo tours seamlessly went from Spanish, Portuguese, and English for our small group of 6. He provided a wonderful history of Chile and was able to get us to the front of lines and offer to take the endless pictures tourists want. Also, there was not any stress on when and where we would be picked up.....in fact he was early! And the night before provided us with confirmation so we could easily. Our driver was awesome too and both deserve big tips and business. Highly recommend for any tour Jaime provides!
Love this tour. Tour guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable! The cities of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar were beautiful! Would love to visit Chile again and just stay in that area.
This is a great tour. Our guide was very friendly and informative. Valparaiso and Vina del Mar were beautiful!
The guide was informative and was happy to answer questions and to quickly google anything he didn't know. Both he and the driver were very friendly and courteous. We were a small group so travelled in a comfortable minibus. We visited three good viewpoints in the hills overlooking Valparaiso port and enjoyed our short walk amongst both colourful and historic houses. The comfort stops going and returning gave the opportunity to purchase local goods including wine and delicious empanadas. Lunch was in a very good restaurant across the road from the sea. Other choices were available as well.

Our guide was amazing! His name was Rodrigo. He is very funny and active. We went to Valparaíso in one day with a lot of smog, but when we went to Viña del Mar the sun came and the beach was very beautiful. We didn't like the restaurant, the food was expensive and they gave us a wrong password to the internet. We have just ate there because we liked Rodrigo. Our driver was Rodolfo and he was very nice too. Someone told us that was a lot of sea lion there, but we didn't see them...
Was interesting to go up in the hills of Valparaiso, and see Vina Del Mar. Good day trip to get out of the city.
A great visit with a great guide tour. It was bad that it was cloudy and close the place where it is the festival. It worth that you can request before offer the places. The car arrive 30 minutes later.
We had an excellent guide. However, 90 of the tourists were Spanish speakers and we English speakers got less information. Valparaiso and Vina de Mar are well with visiting. Both are cities with rich histories and many fascinating places where we toured on foot.
We recommend this tour.
Good price, good, friendly, well-informed guide taking the customers interest into account during the tour. Well-planned tour with good restaurant and even good places for toilet breaks during the trip. Only thing negative was that the tour did not include time to actually enter the Neruda museum which is worth doing.
Very nice and relaxing day trip and we were able to see many parts both cities. The tour guide was very friendly and helpful. Everyone should do this at least once.
Not the best tour I have taken...and just happened to be our first tour with Viator. The Tour Guides English was OK and it never seemed to us that he is into leading this trip. It got really boring as the day passed and after a couple hours we just lost interest in what he was trying to say. Some of our friends took the same trip with the Hotel, and apparently it was much more detail and interesting we came to know. One suggestion - If you Do Not Know Spanish, try to stick with a tour group that doesnt speak Spanish. Since half of our tour were Spanish speaking, the tour guide spent more time explaining the scenarios to them and we were kinda left aside. May be they can improve with the selection of the guide in future?
THIS TOUR WAS OK We found that it was a look and see tour as opposed to understanding what we were looking at.Lunch although good was recommended at a full sit down meal which would take over an hour and had little to do with Chile or Valparaiso. Of course it is not necessary to partake as it is on your dime.Would not recommend until well down the list of destinations in Chile
The sites were amazing and it was a great day trip. The only negatives were requested an English speaking tour guide and ended up on a tour of 7 people 5 Spanish speaking and 2 English speaking. The guide spent 80 of the day speaking Spanish and 20 speaking broken English with incomplete sentences. If I had of known in advance I would have requested a full English tour guide. The other negatives were the van was uncomfortable with smelly seat covers and lunch was at an overpriced venue. The highlights were the time allocated at Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar both spectacular and 100 must sees if you have a few days in Chile.
The tour begins with a hotel pick-up and then we spent about an hour and a half on the road which included a short stop at a tourist hub and an overlook of the Casablanca Valley, before we arrived at Valparaiso.
Valparaiso itself is lovely though we spent a lot more time driving around than actually getting to walk around and take pictures. However, we still had a lot of fun and the tour guide Roderigo kept us entertained.
The really disappointing part was lunch which was prebooked for us at a restaurant near Vina del Mar. The food was terrible unfortunately. I was in Chile for two and a half weeks and it was easily the worst meal I had.
The tour itself is informative and we had a great group which made up for some of the low points.
Valpariso is not a beautiful city, in fact it is pretty dismal. Our driver was more interested in his telephone calls and messaging than driving, and our guide had a problem with three Spanish speaking guests and two English speaking.. The restaurant picked for lunch was beautiful and with a wonderful view, but the prices were outrageous. Would have preferred a less pricey place. Overall knowing what I know now, I would not take this trip again with this tour operatior.
Quite good but being the only English speaking on the bus we found there was a lot more commentary in Spanish. Our guide was nice but had difficulty making clear explanations in English.
