What You Can Expect

Private Custom Tour: Santorini in a Day

Discover Santorini's landmarks on this private custom tour

Meet your private driver-guide at your Santorini hotel or Santorini cruise port, hop inside your comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and set off on your custom tour of the island. Your tour includes all transport, with all meals and entrance fees at your own expense.
Before you head anywhere, chat to your friendly guide about the sights you want to see and visit during your tour. As your tour is private, the itinerary is completely flexible and can be customized to match your interests and preferences.
Perhaps start with a visit to one of Santorini’s must-sees: the timeworn excavated ruins at Akrotiri. Here, stroll around the remnants of the Minoan Bronze Age settlement that was buried, and preserved by, volcanic ash as a result of a major eruption in the second millennium BC.
You may also want to relax on one of Santorini’s black sand beaches or delve into its picture-postcard villages, such as Pyrgos and Oia — the latter known for its spectacular sunsets. Then, maybe finish with a visit to a traditional winery to taste or purchase (own expense) some of Santorini’s fresh and distinctive wines. The island's winemaking history stretches back more than 4,000 years and its varietals are renowned for their crispness and high acidity.
Alternatively, ask your guide for their inside take on what to see and do, and perhaps discover some of the experiences and places that other visitors never get to witness.
See the Itinerary for examples of the different activities and attractions you can enjoy during your tour.

We were a group of 6 travellers from a cruise ship, who wanted to customize our day. What an excellent guide and comfortable vehicle to do it in. He was informative, energetic and funny. We saw everything, did great wine tastings and learnt about the process of planting/ growing grapes etc, we saw historic sights and some of great beauty, with snacks and water etc provided. Could not have asked for better with guide George.

This was our favourite island. Apostles was a great tour guide, was waiting for us when we got off the cable car from the cruise ship and took us everywhere. We went at our own pace and saw a lot. He took us to a great restaurant for lunch and back to the cruise ship right on time

This was an exceptional tour. Stefanos is a superb and knowledgeable guide. We had the opportunity to see everything we wanted and he took us to a nice out of the way lunch place. His understanding of wine and the wine industry on the island is really thorough and interesting. Most of all Stefanos really seems to enjoy his job. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you can have Stefanos as your guide.

My wife and I booked the half-day private tour and we highly recommend it. We were able to see a lot more than expected. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kind. He offered us Ozuo flavored candy, peanuts, hand wipes, and bottles of water. During the tour, we stopped in Fira and he gave us a cell phone to use if needed while we explored the city. Overall, it's definitely worth it.

We had Georgios George as our guide/driver. Our group spent over eight hours with him. He took us to all the points of interest big or small on this beautiful and historical island. He provided us with a lot of facts about Santorini. He also gave us a lot of suggestions/ideas to consider. The tour covered village of Oia, winery and wine tasting, scenic points of southern tip of the island, archaeological sites on the island, geological formations red beach, black beach and the highest point on the island for sunset.

George is very knowledgeable about Santorini and its long history. He had a loose leaf binder of maps and other interesting information that he shared with us during his presentations. Our group asked George a lot of questions about Santorini, from its prehistoric days to the problems confronting Greece today. He answered them all to our satisfaction. He was mindful of the constraints of time and the destinations that had to be visited within the allotted eight hours. He even made an unscheduled stop at a desalination plant, after one member of our group expressed an interest after George was discussed Santorinis freshwater needs.

George also recommend great locations for taking photos and volunteered to take group photos of us, so the entire group could be included in some photos. He suggested and took great panorama photos with our cellphone cameras at certain scenic sights.

Our guide is an experienced tour guide. Moreover, he is very personable and has a great sense of humor. The latter is very important especially on such a long tour. We had a very enjoyable and satisfying tour.

What a great way to see a lot of different sights around the island - perfect for cruise day trips. We got to see lots of places we hadn't planned on, besides our loose itinerary of Oia, Akrotiri and the red and black beaches.

We went for a wonderful tour with Gabriel all around Santorini! He was outstanding, friendly, funny, knowledgable and very entertaining. We went to Oia, wine tasting, drove to the monastery viewpoint, to the beach, to a restaurant right on beach and stopped wherever we wanted to. He was very accomadating to our groups desires as well as suggesting his favourites as well! Fun Day!!
