Overview

Experience Santorini’s beauty, hot springs and beaches on a catamaran cruise. Select a daytime or sunset cruise, and sail around the island and caldera (flooded volcanic crater) on a deluxe catamaran. Stop to bathe in the Nea Kameni springs; swim, snorkel or unwind at beaches; and enjoy complimentary Santorini wine and Greek beer, plus a Greek meal prepared on board. On the evening cruise, be treated to awe-inspiring sunset views. A cruise is essential when you visit Santorini, and with numbers limited to 20, this offers a small-group experience. The catamaran vessel that is used on this tour is both motor-powered and wind-powered(sails). Its sails might or might not be used/opened, subject to weather conditions and captain’s judgement. This is a gentle note for guests that are opting for a pure sailing experience on board a non-motorized sailing boat.

Pickup details

Hotel Pickup and Drop-off are included complimentary on this tour, from all accommodations and hotels throughout Santorini. In case your accommodation is not accessible by car, the meeting point for your pickup will be set at a main accessible location within walking distance from your accommodation. Cruise ship travelers: This is not a tour designed for cruise ship travelers, we recommend cruise travelers avoid booking this trip as the departure/return of this trip is flexible, might depart/return from a different port, and in general, the itinerary/timetable may interfere with the departure of the cruise ship. We recommend cruise travelers book the private version of the trip only, which has a flexible departure/return time. Please note that no refunds will be offered to cruise travelers if they book this trip and request to cancel within 24 hours of the tour departure. Book on your own responsibility. The tour may finish at a different port than the one stated online and at a later time - that might cause cruise ship travelers to miss their cruise ship. The tour operator of this trip operates with multiple boats departing at the same time. If you are traveling with friends/family, and you would like to travel with them on the same boat, please contact the tour operator at least 24 hours prior to departure, after purchasing your ticket. Difference between the Luxury Sunset Cruise and Classic Sunset Cruise Options: The main difference between the luxury sunset cruise and the classic sunset cruise tour option is that the luxury sunset cruise starts from the marina of Vlychada(south part) and ends at Ammoudi Bay (Oia town, north part) while the classic sunset cruise departs and returns at the marina of Vlychada(south part). By choosing the luxury sunset cruise tour option you will be practically sailing on a longer route and maximizing your sightseeing opportunities. Swimming is included in all sunset cruises, there will be 2 swimming stops performed for 20-30 minutes each. Both the luxury and the classic sunset cruise are a mix of sightseeing and swimming, we would say 60-70% sightseeing and 30-40% swimming. Both sunset cruises are relaxing, and fun and you will be enjoying a Greek meal served "family style" including drinks such as white wine, beer, or sodas. The luxury sunset cruise is a longer cruise in terms of distance covered and ends with the most romantic sunset views offered, next to the old bay of Ammoudi filled with traditional Greek seafood restaurants and under the cliffs of Oia town. We would recommend this option for guests staying at Oia town or the Imerovigli area, or for guests opting for the most romantic sunset version of Santorini. Difference between the Luxury Morning Cruise and Classic Morning Cruise Options: The main difference between the luxury morning cruise and the classic morning cruise options is that the luxury morning cruise starts from the bay of Ammoudi(Oia town, north part) and ends at Vlychada marina (south part) while the classic morning cruise departs and returns at the marina of Vlychada(south part). By choosing the luxury morning cruise tour option you will be practically sailing on a longer route and maximizing your sightseeing opportunities. Swimming is included in all morning cruises, there will be 2 swimming stops performed for 20-30 minutes each. Both the luxury and the classic morning cruise are a mix of sightseeing and swimming, we would say 60-70% sightseeing and 30-40% swimming. Both morning cruises are relaxing, and fun and you will be enjoying a Greek meal served "family style" including drinks such as white wine, beer, or sodas. The luxury morning cruise is a longer cruise in terms of the distance covered. We would recommend this option for guests staying at Oia town or the Imerovigli area, or for guests opting for a longer sightseeing cruise.

What To Expect

Select a morning or sunset cruise when you book. Then, on the day, depart your Santorini hotel by air-conditioned minivan and travel to the jetty for your catamaran cruise.

Meet your professional skipper and crew, and find a comfortable spot on the deluxe modern catamaran. Then, sit back and admire Santorini’s caldera and sugar-cube clifftop houses as your vessel pulls away from dock. Relax and enjoy the sea breezes, and take snaps of the views as your catamaran cuts through the waves of the Aegean Sea. As you sail, enjoy the complimentary Santorini wine, Greek beers or sodas available from the onboard bar.

After a short sail across the south part of the island, stop at the Red Beach. Pause here and enjoy time to swim, snorkel or simply sunbathe on the decks. Then, drop anchor at the hot springs beside Nea Kameni, Santorini’s ancient volcano. Step ashore and submerge yourself in the warm pools, whose waters are thought to have medicinal powers that help alleviate skin and bone conditions.

Back aboard, cruise along the coast to Santorini’s southern beaches. Head for the White Beach, and, if you wish, leave the boat to swim in the crystal waters. If you fancy checking out the undersea life, use the supplied snorkeling equipment and set off in search of colorful fish and other underwater sights.

Afterward, return to deck for a delicious lunch or dinner, depending on the cruise time you’ve chosen. Dig into an enticing selection of pork and grilled chicken, Greek salad, pasta salad, fresh bread and fruit.

Then start out on your return journey. If you’ve chosen the sunset cruise, soak up the sight of one of Santorini’s magical sunsets. Snap pictures or just enjoy the moment as the sun sinks below the horizon in a blaze of orange, gold and pink.

Lastly, dock back at the jetty and finish your tour with a hotel drop-off.

Vlychada Beach (Pass By)

Start your Caldera Catamaran Cruise from the marina of Vlychada, located on the south island side.

Traveler Tips

Don't wear a white bathing suit if you will swim in the hot springs as the sulfur will stain the suit.
It did get cold on the way back so take a hoodie or extra towel with you.
Lots of opportunities to swim/snorkel, and if you didn’t want to it was perfectly fine to relax on the sun beds and you wouldn’t even feel like you’re waiting for the snorkellers to finish because it’s just so relaxing!

Relaxing cruise, cramped transport to boat
Cheryl_F, Nov 2022
I would’ve given this five stars - the cruise, food, captain and crew were fabulous and deserved 5+ stars - but it loses a star for cramming 16 people plus a driver into Sprinter van. The drivers were very polite and helpful but our knees were jammed into the hard backed seat in front of us (we are 6’1” and 5’8” tall) and hurt because the drive is 40 mins from Oía (20 mins from Fira) on roads with multiple turns and curves as well as many stops to pick up guests. The cruise left from Vychada port at south end of Santorini island. On the catamaran, Captain Leo piloted the boat and Alex provided great information about the geology and history of the area around the island and caldera. The boat was just big enough for 16 people plus captain and two crew. There were two bathrooms with bedrooms if you wanted to change clothes. Captain Leo had a great music mix! The woman who gave instructions at start of boat tour was nice but with the noise from the boat, music and her accent when speaking English, it was hard to understand. Our first stop was at Red Beach for 20 mins of swimming - cold water. Then we sailed into the caldera to the “hot springs” for 20 mins of swimming. Hot is a misnomer - it was cold then warm-ish. It was near a small church which was said to be 500 years old. We then steamed back over the way we came but sailed close to the black rocks which was amazingly beautiful. Such a treat! We then anchored near the starting point in a cove with 18 other catamarans for 15 mins of swimming then 45 mins for lunch. They served breaded fried fish, grilled chicken with lemon, large prawns/shrimp, spaghetti with tomato sauce, bread, Greek salad (tomatoes, cucumber, red onion), taziki sauce. It was all very good. Afterwards many people laid in the sun sleeping. It was incredibly relaxing! Finally we motored back to the port for our cramped ride back to the hotel.
Beautiful sunset cruise!
Matthew_M, Nov 2022
Amazing catamaran cruise! The crew was so friendly and always kept asking if you needed a refill on your drink and food! The spots we went to were breathtaking and the sunset was the cherry on top! We loved this excursion on our trip to Santorini!

An amazing experience
Lori_B, Oct 2022
Our catamaran excursion was awesome. The view of the beaches were amazing especially since a few of them can only be seen by water. The dinner was better than I expected and was really good. The staff were very nice and gave us great service. It ended with a great sunset view.
Breathtaking
Grant_M, Oct 2022
Gorgeous views of a once in a lifetime trip in the cyclades. The Caldera and it’s history is great. The crew was very experienced and also fun.
Great Customer Service
pmbolt18, Oct 2022
Good energy. Staff was very attentive. Lots of hospitality. Food was okay. They cooked on the boat serving fish, shrimp, spaghetti, chicken, salad and bread. Not a lot of space for 20 people on a 5 hour boat ride:
Great but no Hot Spring
Jose_O, Oct 2022
Everything was very good but if you’re expecting going into a hot spring you won’t be, you’re just taken close to the island which has the active volcano and they tell you that once you’re in the water look for warm patches of water and that’s your “hot spring”. This is the only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars.
The pickup seemed a...
Norman_T, Oct 2022
The pickup seemed a little chaotic, but after that the whole experience was awesome. The entire crew was very friendly and gave plenty of food and drinks. It was a very windy day and cloudy, but they helped make the experience a great one still. If you are looking for a sunset cruise, this will certainly not disappoint.
Great value, great experience!
Michelle_B, Oct 2022
Beautiful boat! The boat is big, new (2022) and clean. Great crew. Food is fresh and delicious. Amazing experience. Highly recommend!
Great sunset on the boat
Juan_F, Oct 2022
Amazing views of caldera! The crew was so helpful, great wine, delicious greek dinner and Kostas the captain very informative!
Average Boat Cruise
Rony_S, Oct 2022
This boat cruise was okay. Not a luxury experience as advertised. The crew members were very nice. However, there a few too many people on board for everyone to be seated comfortably. The food was alright. The wine was not good. We did get a nice view of the sunset, but there are plenty of other pretty places in Santorini to see the sunset.
Great Experience- highly recommend
Laura_C, Oct 2022
We had a great experience on our cruise. Beautiful sights, great swimming areas, good food, and hotel transportation.
Catamaran sunset cruise
sinhalraj, Oct 2022
Great Crew, fabulous food and views of the sunset and fun crowd on the boat. Made the trip all the more memorable.
Best boat cruise ever!
Valleri_A, Oct 2022
I have to say this was the best experience we had in Greece and possibly one of the best experiences we’ve had traveling all together.. Chris and Billy were excellent, professional, funny and the customer service was outstanding !! The views, the places they took us, the food, we can’t say enough of how good this experience was! We have several friends traveling in the upcoming months and we are definitely recommending this experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much to the crew who took care of us and made our day most memorable❤️
Best sunset in the world!

Great tour
Kimberly_P, Oct 2022
We absolutely loved this tour! We had some really nice stops in the ocean and also enjoyed a beautiful sunset and amazing meal. We packed an extra set of clothes and would recommend to do that so you aren’t wet in the van. Thank you to the crew who made this experience 5 stars.
Santorini Highlight!
Brenda_O, Oct 2022
Absolutely the highlight of our trip to Santorini! My husband and I had such a great time, we went swimming at White Beach and in the caldera which was amazing! Dinner was delicious and freshly prepared. The crew was highly accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed. Towels were provided which was a nice ‘plus’. Experiencing sunset from the caldera and on our sail back was just the best!!
Excellent way to see the island and caldera
Erin_G, Oct 2022
Even in October the weather was beautiful! Michael was fantastic at telling us about the island and caldera as we sailed through. The meal served at lunchtime was tasty and filling. We would definitely recommend viewing the island this way!
Sunset at Santorini
Jeanne_W, Oct 2022
