After late afternoon hotel pickup, travel to Mesa Pigadia on Santorini’s southwestern shores. Arrive at a black beach and view the traditional cave houses ranged along it. Learn about their background, and then, after a safety briefing from your guide, don the provided kayaking gear, climb inside your kayak, and receive some paddling instruction.
As the sun begins to descend in the sky, paddle out to sea and admire Mesa’s rocky cliffs as you make your way to an inlet nicknamed ‘Indian Bay’ for its strangely shaped cliffs and caves. Drift around the sea grottos here, and then turn west toward White Beach.
Paddle into this white-cliff pebble cove, and go ashore to refuel with traditional Greek snacks and drinks. Enjoy time to relax, perhaps taking an optional swim or snorkel in the crystal-clear waters. Snorkeling equipment is provided.
Then, as the sun hovers on the horizon, launch your kayak again to watch the sunset from sea level. Soak in the views as the rays illuminate the cliffs and beaches, and then paddle along the twilit coastline back to the start point.
After a total of 1.5 hours’ paddling, go ashore and finish your tour with a hotel drop-off.
