Next up is more tastings of delicious Bosnian foods. Try cevapcici, little skinless sausages served in pita bread, at an indoor market, and sip on traditional Bosnian coffee at a café by the Old Temple.

Head to Ferhadija Street, and see the Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Serbian Orthodox church of The Most Holy Mother of God, and Liberation Square. Pop into a nearby market hall to sample baklava, and view the Eternal Flame Memorial, dedicated to the victims of Nazi terror during WWII.

If you have only time to do one activity in Sarajevo, do this food tour! Muhamed, our tour guide, is knowledgable, entertaining, delightful, good-mooded, energetic and funny. He walked and talked us through Sarajevos impressive history, framing the local cuisine with culture and anecdotes and got us in touch with local shops and arts. After the tour our bellies were more than full and our mind were buzzing of tangible stories. Many thanks, Muhamed!! You did a great job! Daniel and Nora.

The starting point was easy to find and the guide was pleasant throughout. Only one other participant was in this group, so it made for a quite personalized experience. Clearly you experience traditional local food that you might have been able to try on my own if you do a bit of research in advance. However, trekking through the amazing streets and history of Sarajevo with a guide as an intro to this amazing city and culture is well worth the price of the tour. This is great for those who prefer a succinct, light orientation to a very manageable walking old city center cultural tour. And don't forget - the Coffee is Great !...
