What To Expect

This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Seattle or near the SeaTac Airport. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.

Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park. It’s taller than Niagara Falls at 188 feet.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

During the wintertime, choose from an optional snowshoe or sled adventure, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely stunning. Be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it.

Then it’s back down the mountain to hit the road back to Seattle.

Mount Rainier during the winter months is definitely breathtaking. Our tour guide Joe was very knowledgeable about the area and made trip go by smoothly. Looking forward to doing it again in the summer months.

Thank you for joining Joe and providing him with a review. Please do come visit again in the summer. It is a great experience to see the Mountain in different seasons.
Winter wonderland!
Kristine_D, Jan 2023
I went on the tour on a winter and still a breathtaking experience for me. I will definitely go back on summer to do more hikes. I wish we could've spent more than 2 hrs in the park for more time to hike.
Response from Host, Jan 2023
Please do visit in the summer time. The experiences are very different. We do offer private tours where you can customize your itinerary. That may be a better way to go next time. Thank you for touring with us
Awesome trip despite bad weather
Nam_N, Dec 2022
As this is my first trip outside of my home country and the US, I'm more than satisfied with this tour. Cory was extremely considerate and helpful throughout the tour to make sure we have the best experience possible even though the weather did not support us during this (quite rainy and a lot of snow). I'd recommend going on this tour in the summer for the full experience as there were some scenes we didn't get to see due to the weather. I will definitely go on this tour again on my future trips to the States as there will be more to explore when the weather is nicer. Thanks again.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Thank you so much for choosing our Company to experience Mt. Rainier. The weather can be unpredictable during the winter season, but we are glad you were still able to enjoy what Cory offered. We look forward to you joining us again in the summer months!

Accomplished a Goal

My son climbing 6,735 ft. up the mountain. His first time hiking up a mountain and first time in the snow. He went on the trail with our Tour Guide Lucas.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
What an experience for your son to go hiking and see snow for the first time. Thank you for touring with us and providing a review for Lucas.

Fantastic trip, a must do when in Seattle
Lee_B, Dec 2022
Cory was an awesome tour guide, he was very efficient and clear and gave us plenty of time to wander around and enjoy the sites at our own pace. He also had good insight, was funny and really approachable, he also knew that we were tired after all the hikes and blackberry pie and turned off the lights and let us nap on the return drive. Really enjoyed all the stops along the way, the little coffee shop had a variety of unique syrups. We tried the butter pecan, yumm. It had snowed the evening before our trip which did mean the mountain road was closed and visibility of the mountain wasn't the best but that's the Seattle weather you gamble with. On the plus side to that we got to enjoy many hikes and photo ops in the snow at Mt rainier national Park, all of which were unique and fun. (Especially for 2 Aussies whose main goal was to see and experience good snow haha) The rest of the tour group also made the tour pretty special, we all got along and had similar interests in the plan for the day but we were given the opportunity to do stuff as a group and individually. We bought lunch at the first stop (snacks stop) but a few had lunch at the Longmire Inn and said it was very enjoyable. All in all a wonderful trip and tour and was a highlight of our seattle trip.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Thank you for providing Cory with a review and sharing your experience for others to read. We really appreciate you choosing to tour with us.
The scene in winter is OK, but the tour guide Joe is EXCELLENT
Yan_Z, Dec 2022
Due to the closure of some roads and paradise bridge in the park, the accessibility to the beauty of the scene in winter is relatively limited. But if you’re a fun to snow, you should definitely go. Purely snowy fairy tale world in the mountain. What makes the trip more unforgettable is the excellent tour guide Joe. He is so energetic, informative and well-prepared to ensure everyone’s safety and have as much fun as possible in the snowy mountain for the group. He even lent me a pair of snow boots when he noticed that I was only wearing regular sneakers. 4.5 star for the winter scene in the park but definitely more than 5 star for Joe!

Joe is a very passionate tour guide and happy to have him as our guide. We had a great time exploring Mt Rainier although we couldn’t get to the top. Still a fantastic tour to walk around. Highly recommended.
Response from Host, Nov 2022

So I came all the way...
Rola_A, Nov 2022
So I came all the way from Dallas to see a mountain and it was my second tour to see a mountain and I didn’t because of the should alert people who are not living in Seattle that they might not see any mountain and some of the park or the most important part of the part we won’t see…I spent too much money for nothing just to see a forest…I I definitely not recommending this to anyone..I think you should give me back my money.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you for traveling from Dallas to Seattle. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment on what you were able to see during your trip. We do try and make it very clear in noting that the itinerary is subject to change based on weather and road closures which is completely out of our guides control. If you would like to discuss your trip in more detail please contact us directly.
Amazing experience
Varun_V, Nov 2022
Just loved mount rainier and would wish to come back again The guide absolutely friendly and made sure that he took us safe and dropped us back to our respective hotels on time
Every moment was great
Sarah_S, Nov 2022
I enjoyed just about every moment of this tour. I would only advise if you are like me and can get carsick, don't sit in the back of the bus. Every stop we made was picturesque. The snow shoeing was the best part and I never knew it was even going to be included. The views were all also spectacular. Harry did everything in his arena to make sure everyone got great pictures and were able to check out the things they wanted to.
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you for touring with us. Yes that is great advise sit towards the front if experience car sickness. During the winter months we do include the snow shoe experience as long as mother nature allows for it. We appreciate you sharing your feedback and providing a review.
Trip to a Winter Paradise!
ChristinaTrevino, Nov 2022
Harry was my group's tour guide this past Saturday, and let me just say, he was phenomenal! He's everything you want a tour guide to be-- kind, caring, witty, all of the above! What I enjoyed so much about his approach was that he provided a natural balance of sharing his knowledge of Mt. Rainier during the drive while also allowing passengers time to themselves, be it to chat, take pics, or just sit back and take in the beautiful views. He was super approachable and laid-back but you could also tell how seriously he took our safety. We were definitely in good hands with him! He had a lot of great tips on things to do and try throughout the tour, and he even showed us a few hidden gem of spots to capture Mt. Rainier in all its breathtaking glory. Also, I could tell how very in tune he was with the group. For example, just one thing he did was go out of his way to offer to take pics for you and/or your group. You could see he genuinely wanted to connect with everyone and make their trip a memorable one! All in all, he's just awesome! Consider yourself lucky if he's your tour guide, but as far as I could tell all the other tour guides were great, as well! So don't hesitate to book your two (or more) tickets to Paradise- literally! 😉
THANK YOU LUCAS (and our special honored guest!)
Josephine_Y, Nov 2022
So grateful to Lucas--and our special little guest that came along for the ride! Genuinely was a pleasure to hear very well-told and interesting stories that made the ride to Rainier all the more enjoyable--and also was mindful to let us nap on the way back! Very helpful tips and tricks and perfect rest stops to allow for us all to have a comfortable and prepared time. Add to it the most perfect, rare, CLEAR weather in November and the trip was spectacular!! Thank you so much for an amazing time!
Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you for touring with Lucas and his special guest. We are glad you enjoyed your time spent on the Mountain.
Matthew_D, Nov 2022
