Mt Rainier Day Trip from Seattle

Mt Rainier Day Trip from Seattle

This Mt Rainier day trip begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Seattle. Then prepare for a narrated, scenic drive featuring Alder Lake Park and the town of Eatonville at the foothills of Mt Rainier.

Stop at Longmire, the visitor center at the southwest corner of the park, to explore their museum and National Park Inn. Visit Christine Falls, with one of the signature views in Mt Rainier National Park (look for the bridge). Then walk along the Nisqually River up to Narada Falls, considered the most popular waterfall in Mt Rainier State Park. It’s taller than Niagara Falls at 188 feet.

Then it’s off to the pinnacle event of the day: the view at Paradise, which is 5,400 feet above sea level. Purchase lunch here and take in the incredible view of Mt Rainier and the valley below. Be on the lookout for wildlife wandering around the mountain at any time.

At this time, choose from an optional snowshoe or sled adventure, if conditions allow. During the summertime, simply enjoy the scene at Reflection Lake, which provides one of the most iconic views of Mt Rainier. It’s absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to bring a camera.

Finally, visit the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitor Center at Paradise to learn more about the history of Mt Rainier, including a brief film about it.

Then it’s back down the mountain to hit the road back to Seattle.

One of the best tours we have ever been on and it rained the whole time! The tour guide, Danielle, was very knowledgable and so kind. She really made sure that we saw as much as we could. Even with the rain the sights were beautiful and we still saw a lot. So if you go on a sunny day you're trip will be amazing. Highly recommend it! We can't wait to go back.

Postcard perfect day with the mountain showing herself in full glory. WE even got the postcard pictures at Reflection Lake - a pretty amazing day. There isn't a star rating high enough for Danielle. She was full of information and every bit of it more and more interesting. Can't recommend this trip more

The weather being nice certainly helped, but our tour guide Joe Pritchard was nothing short of awesome. He knew the spots that others would not know about for photo ops. Plenty of restroom breaks. Joe made the trip well worth the cost of admission.

Joe Pritchard was excellent as our driver and sightseeing guide. He knew all of the best places to stop for photo opportunities. The tour was ten hours long and he stopped occasionally for passengers' restroom use and to get snacks which was refreshing. Joe's commentary was informative and entertaining.

Great tour guide Joe P. very knowledgeable, with a sense of humor. This gentleman loves what he does. It rained almost all day we were on the mount but Joe made it more palatable!
