      Delicious and informative

A treasure trove of delicious treats - from cupcakes to hot chocolate to pie to novelty flavours! Will be going again with family soon!
      Disappointing.

I took this tour a few years ago and it was great. We started at a bakery and had chocolate croissants with hot chocolate before we toured three different chocolate factories (Seattle chocolates, Theo’s, and Franz). We got to see how the cocoa beans are processed and sample different products. I recommended the tour to my family when they visited. They were disappointed, as they did not get to see any processing of the chocolates and they had to spend much of their time standing, walking, waiting outside the stores in very cold 40-degree weather. They did say however, that their tour guide was very nice and knowledgable.

Hi Rima! Just to let you know we did not operate this tour a few years ago so it looks like the mistake is yours. I'm not exactly sure what made you think this was the tour you took before, but we've never had any other guest make this mistake. Since you were not present on this tour, we would appreciate if you could rescind your review. We recommend reading the description next time as it gives a good description about what to expect!

Trying and learning about new, and very delicious treats I've never heard of before, and trying new ways of enjoying old favourites. I appreciated the unusual spots and the few extras and surprises along the way. Our guide Will also had great recommendations for other restaurants & experiences that we enjoyed, and was quite knowledgeable about the Seattle food scene. He was especially skilled at herding so many kids and late comers and waits and crowds, all while making sure we had a good time. Thanks Will, we had fun!

Friendly tour with different types of chocolate throughout
      Jian_J, Nov 2022
Each location we went to had a different specialty, which provided a wide variety of chocolate samples for us to enjoy throughout the morning. Our tour guide, Jade, was friendly and knowledgeable and not only introduced us to types of chocolate that suited our different tastes, but also gave tip of other good restaurants she knew of as we passed. Overall it was a great way to spend a Saturday morning and I would recommend to chocolate lovers anywhere.
      Fun, informative and DELICIOUS!

The chocolate tour was fantastic! Prior to taking the tour, my wife and I were concerned we might feel sick half way through more than a dozen different tastings, but our guide, Will, was clever enough to throw in some savory food stops throughout so as to avoid sugar-overload. Will’s presentation was tailor-made for the inquisitive chocolate lover. He was friendly, informative and relaxed, so we never felt rushed and were able to just enjoy the sights and sounds of each venue. We would definitely revisit this tour and we highly recommend it to anyone considering it while in downtown Seattle.

Will’s knowledge about chocolate and food in general and the stops he chose made this tour truly remarkable!
      Great introduction to chocolate
      MurielA_C, Aug 2022
This was a really fun personalised tour. There was such range of experiences and tastes and of course so much information about chocolate! At the same time it was leisurely and we never felt rushed. Highly recommend this as a way to learn about chocolate and about the best places to get it. Only regret was that we didn't do this earlier in our stay because we learned about some great places to eat and in fact went back to a couple afterwards. Just do it!
      So much chocolate
      Ryan_R, Aug 2022
Will was a great tour guide! It was fun walking around Seattle and finding little hidden gems, tasting chocolate from other regions and getting educated on all the different types of chocolates available in such a small area.
      Worth it.
      Michelle_H, Aug 2022
Will was a great guide. He was knowledgeable about the chocolate and the local businesses that we supported. I enjoyed hearing about the history of each establishment and their proprietors. Most impressive was the guide’s attentiveness to my gluten free preference and preparedness to provide gluten free alternatives. Thank you! There were nine stops, five of which were a part of Pike’s market (inside and outside). It was an eclectic tasting that included ice cream, cookies, donuts, hot chocolate, chocolate morsels, international chocolate drinks, truffle salt and oils, chocolate covered fruit, and finally chocolate truffles. Most of the shops offered tour participants 10-15% discounts. That was a definite win. The guide was wonderful. He was personable, knowledgeable, and patient. He took pictures of families at the end, offered recommendations for lunch options, and where to find quality local art. Tips: bring a bottle of water to rinse between tastings and to help manage some of the rich or spicy tastings. Bring cash if you would like to tip or have Venmo to tip the tour guide. The tour is 2.5 hours because the guide paces it and asks questions to engage the tour participants. Wonderful tour. $76 may feel pricey but you appreciate the diversity of the tastings, knowledge gained and exposure to local denizens with chocolate offerings. The final note is beyond the tour guide’s control. But, i mention it so that others are more considerate when taking the tour. There was a family on the tour that had three kids. I could have tolerated each of them being attention seeking and constantly interrupting and trying to correct and/or question the tour guide. Their total lack of manners was upsetting. They did not say please, thank you, or excuse me. They reached in front of others and grabbed samples from the guide. I was embarrassed for the parents who did nothing to curb this incredibly rude behavior. The guide did the best job possible of not letting the disruptive tour participants totally derail the experience. It is wonderful when kids ask questions because they are inquisitive. It is another thing when the goal is only to display how smart they think they are and to try to “catch” the adult as being wrong or less intelligent.

Chocolate ice cream at Cupcake Royale. The tour seemed focused on promoting the businesses, and I would have liked a little more information about chocolate, such as how it is made and why one type is different from another.
