What You Can Expect

Small-Group Olympic National Park Tour from Seattle

Olympic National Park in the winter

After being picked up at your hotel in downtown Seattle, climb into a luxury vehicle and begin the approximately 2-hour journey to Olympic National Park.

The park features snow-covered mountains, rain forests and the majestic Pacific coastline. There are remote beaches, plus the country’s oldest forests and one of Washington’s most dramatic mountain ranges. The Olympic Peninsula is home to some of the greatest wilderness left in the United States, including sixteen species of plants and animals that evolved here — and nowhere else. Enjoy short, interpretive nature walks throughout the day. If there is enough snow for snowshoeing, the guide will bring all the necessary equipment.

Learn forest ecology and the geology of the stunning Olympic Mountains. Weather permitting, drive up to Hurricane Ridge for incredible mountain views and spot wildlife and waterfalls along the scenic routes. Visit the pristine waters of stunning Lake Crescent in the northern foothills of the Olympic Mountains. This lake was carved by glaciers, so it’s an ideal spot for those in search of natural beauty. On days when weather closes access to Hurricane Ridge we may visit the sandy coastline of the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge or spend more time among the forests and waterfalls of the Elwha Valley.

At midday, a gourmet picnic will be provided. Please see the Itinerary section for menu information.

Our trip was on a rainy snowy in the mountains day, but our host was very personable and flexible, and helped make it a real success. He was very knowledgeable about the geology of the Olympic Mountains and surrounding geography. He also provided a healthy and delicious brunch and lunch for the group.

The views were super amazing! Remember to dress warmer because there will be a little bit more colder than you image.

That's a great trip with amazing natural landscape and lovely ppl together! Our knowledgeable guide has introduced diversified vegetation and wild animals over there and made us very comfortable along the way. Will highly recommend if you are a big fan of enjoying nature beauty and getting close to local culture.

A long day filled with adventure and natural beauty! Our guide Andrew drove safely up and down and around mountains while sharing his enthusiasm for the the area. We met a totem pole carver, hiked along Hurricane Ridge, lunched by a lovely stream and waterfall, and ended our day walking along Crescent Lake. I so appreciate tour opportunities like this: traveling in a comfortable van with an experienced friendly guide, lunch and drinks provided, surrounded by the glory of nature! I highly recommend this tour!

Andrew was accommodating in spite of the road detours. Great to see the salmon running.

Fabulous Trip, Wonderful Scenery Starting a precious vacation day really early means that the tour had better be fabulous and this trip certainly was just that. Driving in a comfortable small van, our tour guide, Andrew, talked about the natural environment, geology, history, and other pertinent topics pertaining to the Olympic Mountains. Visiting blustery Hurricane Ridge and then the scenic Lodge brought a sense of excitement and serenity to the trip. Younger and more able tour guests scrambled around outside while several of us older guests enjoyed the scenery at a more leisurely pace and vantage point. Either way, this tour offers multiple options for people with varying degrees of mobility and interest. Plus the gourmet lunch was elegant and tasty. Well done. Highest recommendation.

We booked the small group tour on August 26th, but no one else booked it, so we had a private tour. Cindy drove us through Bainbridge Island to the Olympic National Park, stopping at a Native American gift shop along the way. We went to Hurricane Ridge, Crescent Lake, and a waterfall near the rainforest. She gave us tea, lunch, wine, and plenty of snacks. Lunch was chicken, Caesar kale salad, and quinoa with edamame. Delicious! Cindy was very knowledgeable, and the park is stunning!
