  • Take a 45-minute cruise to Tillicum Village from Seattle
  • Learn about the Native American culture
  • Watch a 25-minute show featuring traditional song and dance
  • Chinook Salmon buffet is included
  • Enjoy free time to explore Blake Island State Park
Meet the tour group at Pier 55 on Seattle’s Central Waterfront to begin this 4-hour excursion to Tillicum Village in Blake Island State Park. From the waterfront, it’s a scenic 45-minute, live-narrated cruise to Tillicum Village.

Upon arrival, enjoy some steamed clams as an appetizer before dinner. Inside the cedar longhouse, watch fish being carefully prepared over open fires — the way it has been for centuries — before a buffet dinner with Northwestern cuisine is served. After the meal, sit back and watch an incredible stage performance that combines Coast Salish storytelling and traditional Native American dance. Tillicum Village is the only place in the world to see these dances and hear these songs, performed by the dancers whose families have owned them for generations.

After the show, choose from any number of different activities: Explore the beaches or forest trails, watch a wood-carving demonstration or visit the gift shop and take a tour of the artwork in the back garden and around the facility. Those are just a few of the possibilities before the return voyage to Seattle’s waterfront.

When you arrive to Tillicum on Blake Islans, make your way up to the longhouse along the pathway strewn with clam shells bleached by the sun. Before you enter the longhouse, take a moment and enjoy an appetizer of clams and nectar. Be sure to crush the empty clam shells when you are finished as it is the tradition to help preserve the path! Inside the longhouse, watch as whole fish is cooked over an alder-wood fire on cedar stakes in the traditional Northwest Coast Indian style. As you finish your buffet meal, the lights dim while the myth and magic come to life in the spellbinding performance featuring Tillicum dancers. Tillicum Menu: • Traditional Alder Baked Fish: Savor this centuries‐old treat! The fish, baked around alder wood fires on cedar stakes, is unlike anything you have ever tasted. Taking approximately one hour to bake slowly to perfection, the fish retains moisture and takes on a wonderful mild flavor unique to this style of cooking and is served with a signature Juniper Berry Seasoning. • Signature Beef Stew: This thick meaty stew is full of flavors beef combined with root vegetables and potatoes for a mouth‐watering dish. • Wild Grain Harvest Rice: Try this wonderful combination of wild and regular rice, cooked to perfection with onions, garlic and a fragrant vegetable stock. • Warm Whole Grain Tillicum Bread: This rich, dark, slightly‐sweet bread is made with a hint of molasses and served warm with butter. This bread is so popular, in fact, you can even purchase an extra loaf to take home! • Field Greens Salad: Seasonal greens, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, Oregon blue cheese and served with stone ground rosemary dressing or raspberry vinaigrette served on the side. • Tri‐Colored Bean Salad: A colorful display of marinated creamy‐white cannelli beans and bright, fresh green beans tossed with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil and shallots in a red‐wine vinaigrette. • Fresh Fruit Salad: Assorted melons, grapes, strawberries and pineapple served with a strawberry honey dipping sauce. • Northwest Dessert Treat: A Northwest inspired finish to your meal. • Coffee, Tea, Lemonade

Our Argosy boat trip to Blake Island was delightful, narrated by Jason, our cruise director. The weather turned out sunny, highlighting the beautiful forests on the island, and the Native American art around the longhouse. Our salmon dinner buffet was perfect, enhanced by the friendly, attentive waiters and workers. The tribal dances and program were excellent, creating a better understanding and appreciation of our native peoples.I would recommend this trip to all Washington residents (as am I) and visitors!

The food was great, but out entire party was disappointed with the tiny amount of salmon we got. There was beef stew to supplement, but just not the same. All of the food was delicious. The table service was very slight as there were more guests then they had anticipated. We ended up getting our own water and went to the bar for our wine. The cruse was great and the tour guide really knew what he was talking about. Everything was very informative.

We took our 14 1/2 year old Grandson from Virginia. We loved the beautiful, informative boat ride out to the island on a SPECTACULARLY PERFECT NORTHWEST DAY. The clams were new for him but he tried and liked them, even drank the nectar. The lunch was amazing. So much food and lots of choices. The First Nation presentation of dance and storytelling was very entertaining and gave us some historical facts about the people who lived here before us. We had a chance to walk some of the grounds and saw some deer, raccoons and a Bald eagle grab a fish from the sound and fly to a nest high in the trees. All in all it was a pretty perfect day and we slept like babies after a full day of FRESH AIR❣️

Disappointing Trip - Tillicum Excursion

We had out of town guests from San Francisco that were excited about the Tillicum Excursion. When we arrived in Seattle, the directions printed on our tickets said to go to the Seattle Aquarium to pick up our tickets. We waited in the long line to find out that the ticket pickup window had changed to a location several blocks away. We went to the “new location” to get out tickets, just in time to board the boat before it set off for Blake Island. It was a beautiful day, so the 25-minute trip to Blake Island was enjoyable. Once at the Island, we waited in line for the clams that are served to the guest. Our guests were extra excited, as they had never experienced the PNW clams before. Just as we got to the front of the line, from patiently waiting our turn, we were told – “I am so sorry, we just ran out of clams”…. WHAT???? So very disappointing! I had assured our guests that the Dinner was Fabulous (and worth the wait) as well as the Dinner show, so we enjoyed a cocktail until we were able to be seated for our dinner. My husband (who is allergic to fish) was guaranteed that there were MANY other food items to select from, so he would not be disappointed! When we got up to the buffet, much of the food was gone and had not been replenished. The only main course item that would have been available for my husband to eat would have been the beef stew. Unfortunately, there was no beef stew left!!! My husband had salad, a little bit of what was left of the fresh fruit, some overcooked polenta and cookies. Our guests also had the same experience, they were however able to get some of the Salmon, which was delicious. I had told them about the elaborate Dinner Show (which I had seen about 6 years prior) that had lights, music, dancing, etc… Once the show began, it was clear that something had changed. What was, 6 years ago – was no longer. The stage no longer had the rock/cliff setting it had in the past, instead, in its place was a hologram type of backdrop with a storyteller, and later 3 people who jumped across the stage in wooden masks, slamming close the mouth of the mask making loud clacking noises. This “show” lasted about 20 minutes vs the 60-minute play like presentation (with elaborate displays) of the past. We were extremely disappointed with the entire experience. We basically paid $400 for a 25-minute boat ride to and from Blake Island.

Everyone was super nice and friendly. The salmon was the BEST! All the food was good. The rice could have been cooked a little more, but it was taste. The story telling and the dance was the best. I just wish there had been more! The island was nice. I liked seeing the eagle!!! The ship was very comfortable. I was very impressed with all your employees!
