What You Can Expect

After hotel pickup in Seoul, your tour starts with the drive to Imjingak Park to see the Freedom Bridge, a symbol of the tragedies of the Korean War.

Then head toward the Korean Demilitarized Zone to visit the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, which the North Korean Army used to infiltrate South Korea. With a provided helmet, you can walk down to the tunnel, and then you'll have time to browse the DMZ Exhibition Hall to see displays of old weapons, a short film about Korea's history, and other information about the Korean War.

Next, visit Dora Observatory for a view of North Korea, which you can see using the onsite telescopes aimed at the propaganda village, and then continue to Dorasan Station, the last station before the border with North Korea, where you can get a souvenir stamp that mimics an immigration stamp.

Make your way back to Seoul at this point, passing by Unification Village and stopping at the Korean Ginseng Center before drop-off at Seoul City Hall, where your tour ends.

From the driver who fetched us from the hotel and took us to the meeting place, to the tour guide Libby Kim, to the driver of the bus, all of them were very courteous and helpful. Libby was very knowledgeable, and funny too! I learned a lot from this tour, but for those who aren't that fit or athletic, I suggest skipping entering the tunnel. That's the one part that I didn't enjoy that much, and I felt that the effort I exerted wasn't worth it. Otherwise, everything else was great!

Excellent tour. We had a great time with tactical, athletic and vivacious tour guide Libby! According to her she's a very fast runner! Amazing! Anyway the tour was brilliant with lots of information and good banter. Lots of love from the boys from Australia.

We loved this bizarre and fascinating trip to the border! The service itself was perfect, from the pick-up directly from our hotel, the quality of the bus and the ride, and the stops made all along the way. Erika, our guide, especially made our experience for us outstanding - she is lots of fun, has great personality, and is full of knowledge. We highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and more than happy to answer all of our questions it was a great opportunity to get an insight into how the South Korean public feel about the current tensions with the North, as this is often something that is missing from Western television coverage.

The tour moved at a brisk pace, without feeling rushed, and I felt that the sites we visited were all very eye opening and managed to portray the conflict from a number of perspectives. My personal highlight was the visit to the border village it was quite surreal to be able to view the North Korean flagpole so nearby.

One thing to be wary of is the visit to the tunnels, as the route in and out of the tunnel is a very long and steep walk. You could easily stay at the surface exhibits during this part though without losing much from the overall experience.

Our guide Libby Kim was fantastic with her knowledge, humor and passion. It was sure an enriching tour although folks who are claustrophobia and alien to exercise should think twice about the tunnel 3 walk. 45 minutes to and fro the tunnel can be quite a challenge. Would otherwise strongly recommend the tour.
