    Traveler Tips

Sturdy shoes are a must if you walk down the tunnel, it's extremely steep and about 1/4 mile down then another 1/4 mile underground to the end.
The third tunnel is quite hard work and probably not suitable for anyone who has claustrophobia and also includes some parts that require you to crouch a little bit.
It is a tight squeeze, so not for the claustrophobic.

Great for look back on history
    sherry_m, Jun 2022
Tour was very good. Transportation very comfortable and tour guide very polite. We enjoyed Imjingak Park though we spent a lot of time there and wished for more time at the DMZ itself. Also really loved learning about infiltration tunnels. No pictures allowed in the 3rd tunnel. The day we went, we were able to see the North Korean flag through the telescope but we were not able to observe any guards on either side. Overall, Great for history but not for any current “live” experience.
Awesome half day tour from Seoul. Easiest pickup and drop off!
    Nelson_W, Jun 2022
Awesome day trip from Seoul. Logistics of pickup was a breeze and our guide, Libby, was awesome. She was like super knowledgeable and charismatic. There never was a time that our family wasn’t sure of where we should be or what we should/could be doing. We travelled with our son (9) and newborn (3 weeks). The tour was the perfect length and allowed enough time to see everything we were interested in. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an awesome half day trip to learn more about the North/South Korean conflict/relationship. When more of my family comes to visit we will doing this again.
    Great!

Fascinating place to visit, highly recommend. Tour was very well organized, plenty of time to explore different areas. Cristal and Eric were fantastic hosts - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Taking the earlier tour seemed to beat some of the queues at the DMZ ticket office.
Excellent tour - young kids loved it

Excellent tour! Our guide Sadie was so sweet. We got picked up and transported to the site in a smaller van which was great because we got to get to know the other people on the tour (less than 10 people total). Our girls (6 & 9) had a great time too! Shame we couldn't visit the JSA but that is the UN's decision and not much we can do about it right now! Would definitely recommend!

Learn A Lot About Why Korea Is As It Is
    Cheryl_M, May 2022
Libby - our guide - was extremely good. From her we were given a good understanding of why there is a DMZ and why there are tunnels. This is a part of history of which I had no prior knowledge and it was fascinating to hear what has transpired over the last century almost. She was good with respect to language, kept people on track, knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her as a guide.
    Very good experience !

    Great family DMZ Tour
    John_K, May 2022
Our family with young kids greatly enjoyed this trip to the Freedom bridge, 3rd tunnel, and observation deck. Wear good shoes for the 350m tunnel incline, bring snacks or money to buy snacks at shops. And don’t forget to bring your passport!
    DMZ half day tour
    joshua_p, May 2022
First time going and with a very diverse group of ppl. Judy was a big help and brought everyone together and made the tour fun and memorable for all of us. I did the afternoon tour to give myself time to figure out the train system and where to meet them outside the hongik university exit, which was easier than expected.
    Had a great time
    Max_S, May 2022

Our tour guide told very good stories of the history while on-route. It was great getting to explore the history first hand from the days of Korean War. Very hands on experience.
Great alternative while the DMZ was closed
    DaveJ, Feb 2020
Due to the coronavirus, we could not travel to the DMZ, so the tour operator booked us an alternative tour that included visits to Imjingak park, the Odusan Observatory and the War Memorial Museum. All are excellent visits that help you understand the impact of the Korean War on the country and the entire Korean peninsula. Our guide, Mr. Kim, was excellent and offered a great perspective on the war's legacy and the effects still felt today. The weather on our trip day was very poor - cold and snowy - but the bus driver did an excellent job on the roads with low visibility. Kudos to the tour operator for responding to a situation beyond their control and offering a wonderful alternative.

Great tour. We had a group of 7 on our tour. Visited the peace park, observation tower and museum. Really informative and helpful guide.
    Great tour despite DMZ closure

Had a great experience despite the DMZ area near the border was closed due to government restrictions. The tour provided a good alternative, and our guide Sadie was amazing!
    Alternative Tour
    jordynmclean, Jan 2020
Due to an illness outbreak at the DMZ, we were unable to do the regular tour, so we did the alternative tour, which includes the observatory, the freedom bridge and the war memorial. This tour was the experience of a life time and it’s something my friends and I will remember forever. Our guide gave us such good information about Seoul and the history of the korean peninsular Korean. My friends and I were also very impressed with how objective, but still hopeful the information was. If you are able to go on this tour during your time in Korea, I would 1000009% recommend it.
    Great! Very enjoyable tour.
    Emma F, Jan 2020
Sadie was a wonderful guide, she was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. Though the JSA is closed I thought the tour gave me a far better understanding of the Korean War and of that area. I would highly recommend if you are interested in history and politics!
    Great, knowledgeable tour!
    stuckatseven, Dec 2019
The DMZ was closed on our tour date (due to the government), but the company provided a great, alternative tour. Mr. Kim shared a vast amount of knowledge and stories about the DMZ, the Korean people and the two countries. It was perfectly timed to keep people engaged and interested! Highly recommended!!
