Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your central Seoul hotel and a short transfer to the Mt Myogaksa temple in time for a 9am start. On arrival, change into traditional robes and take part in the orientation, during which you’ll hear a bit about the ancient practice of Korean Buddhism and learn the rules and temple etiquette that will be expected during your visit.
The first task of the day is to make your own prayer beads, comprised of 108 beads threaded one by one onto a string. Your guide will explain the importance of the 108 beads (a sacred number in Buddhism) and how the act of using the prayer beads symbolises the release of greed, anger, and delusion in an effort to unlock the true self.
After re-fueling with a typical temple lunch (included), it’s time to re-focus your mind during a Seon meditation session.
Finish your experience by taking part in a traditional Korean tea ceremony, then enjoy the opportunity to speak with one of the temple’s resident monks.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 4pm.
Please note: A minimum of 4 people per booking is required.
