We were fortunate to have two wonderful naturalist guides who greatly enhanced our visit to Donana. Although we visited in March under a drought, we added several dozen new birds to our list, as well as Spanish red deer and striped wild boar. We were excited to learn about cork trees. We visited the beautiful church in the village of El Rocio. We would definitely repeat this tour and would arrange to stay in El Rocio multiple days to extend the visit to Donana. A great experience!

We loved this small group tour.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better July 2016

The tour guide was good, but I felt bad for him trying to find all the animals because we barely saw any. We saw a couple of stork and some young foal playing and some flamingos, but that was about it. When we arrived at El Rocio, we saw some flamingos, but they looked like dots when I took pictures of them using my zoom lens. I had to take pictures through the binoculars which was a struggle. We already saw these animals back home in England, and to a larger degree too.

It was annoying as we had to sit in the back because we were the last people they picked up, and it was a VERY uncomfortable ride even with just 5 people, and if it hit the limit of 7 people, we would all be touching knees at the back of the 4x4. We were all sweaty because it was extremely hot, and it was a LONG ride. We were left in the back like shopping bags.

The tour guide was nice and knowledgeable, which is why I even gave you 2 stars in the first place - but the company is the problem. They need to fix their itinerary because we didn't pass one interesting place on our tour. I can't imagine someone seeing EVEN LESS than what we saw that day, so don't expect too much or you'll be disappointed. When we arrived at El Rocio at 10am, there was already a 4x4 full of tourists leaving. A 3 hour tour would've sufficed, but 10 hours was OVERKILL.

This was a waste of time and money,

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better June 2016

This tour wasn't what I expected. The good things were the guide who was knowledgeable and friendly and spoke good English we stopped at a town for morning coffee that had an excellent leather shop and we all bought boots at a very reasonable price we saw some flamingoes we heard a cuckoo we saw a deer in the distance we saw young foals frolicking we visited a lovely beach. The bad things were the bone jarring ride to get to the town and lake along a sandy track and the lack of any other wildlife other than what I mentioned. It was a long uncomfortable ride in an old jeep for not much to see.
