This activity will end right where it started.
Travel independently to Seward harbor front, arriving warmly dressed, wearing several layers, a hat, gloves, and rubber-soled shoes.

Then, board your ship, and after a safety briefing, gaze back at Seward as you sail into Resurrection Bay. From March through May, the bay is visited by Californian gray whales as they make their annual journey north from Baja, California to the Bering Sea. Your cruise will travel 55 miles (88.5 kilometres) along the coast in search of sightings.

Listen to the on-board commentary about the whales, and scan the seas using the supplied binoculars. With luck, enjoy sightings: unforgettable views of these majestic mammals in their natural habitat.

Watch, too, for humpback and orca whales, Dall’s porpoises, seals, and sea otters, and perhaps spot bears and mountain goats with their young on the rocky shores.

Look for glaciers as you trace the coastline, seeing the blue ice of Bear Glacier, a Piedmont Glacier, and Kenai Fjords National Park’s biggest glacier, all nestled in the mountains.

As you cruise, enjoy included tea, coffee, and water, and any refreshments you’ve brought aboard. Wine, beer, and snacks can be purchased on board (own expense).

Your cruise finishes when your ship docks at Seward.

Cruise was nice, but nothing spectacular!

The beautiful scenery is the selling point of this tour. Boat was very clean. However, we didn’t see much wildlife. In addition, the speaker system on the outside needs to be improved. You couldn’t hear a word the captain was saying.

We booked two seats, my kid was sick so I had to stay home. Generally you can't get a refund short notice but you should be able to get a voucher. Viator couldn't help me. I couldn't even talk to a real person about it. Their chat bot sent me to the original company who also couldn't do anything. Both companies passed the buck to the other guy - back and forth back and forth and in the end, the customer lost out.

The tour isn’t for kids apparently
Sarah_D
, May 2022
The captain yelled at my son (4) for touching the bell on the top deck. He didn’t politely ask him not to or spare a quick sentence to let him know it’s for safety or anything, just yelled while my son cowered down confused and a little scared. It made it so my son didn’t want to go look at the animals on the deck after. We did see a lot of animals though. I just wouldn’t recommend with kids.

We layered up for our late April trip, and spent the first 2.5 hours out on the top deck. Eagles, sea otters, Mt goats, whales, puffins... what a grand day! Excellent boat, captain and crew. Well worth it!

Vomit Cruise
Aleksandra_S
, Apr 2022
We saw about five animals. When we exited the bay to look at sea lions I vomited four times. The waves were intense and a noticeable amount of people experienced seasickness despite taking medication. The entire lower back smelled like vomit and I saw two people vomiting off the deck while I sat back there. The crew was very kind but they shouldn’t be doing this cruise in the spring with these types of waves. The last two hours of the cruise were excruciating. Do not bring elderly, children or people with mobility issue on the spring cruise. The waves were so violent that you could hardly move without being thrown across the boat for a solid hour. This trip was hell.
