This was an amazing tour. I highly recommend it. Our guide, Cathy, was the best. She went beyond what would be expected. The village was lovely and the lunch was excellent. It was such a special and unique experience having lunch at Uncle Woo's home. We really appreciated all the care they put into making us a delicious lunch. All in all it was a 10 tour!

We really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeble and made the trip very interesting.
The lunch with host family was awesome. They were more than gracious
The only problem was there was not enough shopping time. We felt little rushed . It was a lot of travel time to the village and backplease make this tour 7-8 hours instead of 6 .It was our last day in china and harris made it worthwhile
Thanks

This tour was fantastic. Autumn was our tour guide and shared great info on China and Shanghai. The organic lunch was the highlight. We toured an organic farm with the farmer and her wife. They picked the fresh veggies and then cooked them for us. And to top it off, the farmers wife showed us how to make dumplings. Then we walked thru the city, and went on a private gondola ride in the canals. Highly recommend this tour.

We were a group of 4 Australians visiting Shanghai for the first time and Harris came highly recommended. The recommendation was well deserved. From the time we were picked up at our hotel to when we were dropped off Harris looked after us with great care. His English is excellent, his choice of destinations proved interesting and the addition of a visit to a country village and lunch with a lovely farmer and his wife was without doubt a highlight. We felt honoured to be allowed to share in their home and experience how they lived. Harris also gave us some tips on places to visit in Shanghai and was generous with sharing his knowledge and his time. I would highly recommend this tour and particularly Harris as the tour guide to anyone visiting Shanghai. Thanks Harris - Pam, Jon, Rob and Kerry

We did many tours in Shanghai and Beijing and had 3 different tour operator servicing us. Some agents and guides were very thoughtful that we had a child travelling with us and that we were new to Shanghai and Beijing.

This tour agent was lacking skills and service. On the morning of the tour we were informed that Shanghai was experiencing a typhoon and we called the operator to see if it was possible to move the tour to another date. The tour operator did not oblige. He was called an hour before the actual tour time. His excuse was that he was unable to as he had already arranged a guide and a driver. We had a 9 year old child with us and it was going to be difficult for the child and not much of an enjoyment with the typhoon. Well fine - no issues we will do the tour then, because the operator would not budge.

We were picked up by the tour guide at 9.30am, a time they insisted that we should be picked up. The guide did not follow the itinerary and took us on her own whims and fancy. She decided to take us to the market and then to the river and then pass through all the shops, but we couldn't do the most important bit - the boat ride, because of the typhoon. We ended up being at this place up till 2pm, as such we didn't get to enjoy vegetable picking, dumpling making, etc, because we were already very hungry and the food had to be cooked. The guide did not check with us on what we could and could not eat until we had arrived at the home and food was on the table.

And then the guide informs us on our way to the farmers home that it is not a farmers home, it is a peasant's home. Now shouldn't this be stated in the booking itinerary? Why were we mislead? The whole tour was a sham and should not be misleading and the guide should follow the itinerary.

The only bit we enjoyed were the welcome we had from the peasant and his wife. They were very nice people. And they treated us well. Thumbs up to them.

This tour would have been a better experience if the guide was experienced in organizing it correctly. Lack of experience on the part of the tour operator makes it a waste of time and money.
