I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a one day overview of Shanghai. Apple, our guide, was knowledgeable, smart, resourceful, and tailored the tour to our interests. Not only did we see and do the listed tour highlights, we gained a lot of cultural knowledge about China and its people. Shanghai is booming! You will notice this when you view the city from the second highest building in the world, the Shanghai Tower. From the Bund, we rode the cable car under the Huangpu River to reach the Tower for its views. What an E ticket ride! I was able to video most of the entertaining light show ride under the river.
Apple took us to the French Concession area where we learned some of the city's past history. The area is like an island of its own as it resembled European streets with its old brick buildings and small cafes. Next stop was the silk factory which was my request for purchasing a silk scarf. We learned how silk was made through many hands on experiences led by silk staff. We spent at least an hour at the silk factory before heading to the Yu Gardens for a tour and some tea brewing. We took many pictures at the Garden.
The day went quickly before it was time to say goodbye. It was Saturday and Apple had her own family obligations, but she showed us where to go for dinner, ordered the food, and completed our transactions. We went back the next day as the food was really good and a place visited by locals. She also recommended what we should do before we left Shanghai.
This was one of the most enjoyable tours I have had with Viator. I strongly recommend this tour if you want to spend a full day in Shanghai with a very knowledgeable guide who grew up in Shanghai.
This was a great day. Action packed, but not overly so. While I probably could have visited all these sites by myself, having an expert guide allowed me to make the best use of time. I learned a lot too!
My husband and I had an excellent tour in Shanghai with our guide Apple. Jenny contacted us with several options a few days before the trip to understand what we were interested in seeing so that the tour would be customized to our taste. Apple and a driver escorted us around the city to see many sites. During our delicious lunch break, we met Jenny and another tour group. This tour was a great way to see the sites of Shanghai with a limited stay. We certainly enjoyed getting to know Apple while learning about the city throughout the day.
This was a super tour. We saw all the main tourist attractions in Shanghai in one day. Jenny, our tour guide is the best tour guide I've ever had. Jenny had so much energy and enthusiasm. She was informative, knowledgeable and just so much fun. This really made our trip in Shanghai. Jenny had no problem taking loads of photos of us. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. When I'm back in Shanghai I'll definitely be meeting up with Jenny. Having a driver was very useful as you were not too tired from all the walking.
We had a very good driver and awesome guide Apple They planned to see lot of things in a limited time because our tour is only one day private.it is highly recommended
With only a short time to be in Shanghai, I searched for a day tour to introduce me to the city. Jenny Tours was the perfect choice and Jenny Liang the ideal host. I had booked a private tour but a few days later she asked if I minded if another tourist joined us. I was okay with that and it turned out to great to have a fellow tourist along. Jenny picked us up at our hotels and we toured by metro, taxi, and on foot.
First stop a magnificent view of the city from the glass-floored observation deck of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Then a visit to the museum at the bottom of the tower. As we went, Jenny showed and told us of the old and the new the Yuan dynasty Confucius Temple, the Ming dynasty Yu Yuan Garden, the financial district of Pudong that was fields just 25 years ago. Among the highlights were a Tea Ceremony at the Confucius Temple, a 400 year old gingko tree in the Yu Gardens, and an authentic Chinese lunch. We ended our tour with the Bund, Nanjing Road, and the French Concession before returning to our hotels.
I learned so much from Jenny who knew my love of bats was shared by the Chinese. She was a pleasant, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable guide. Her English excellent. Want a great tour of Shanghai? Look no further than Jenny Tours.
Jenny was a terrific guide. She cared about us as if we were family and explained not only why the sites we went to were important in Chinese history but why they were special to her. It was a great way to explore the city.
Brilliant experience. Jenny made this tour. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and personality made this tour one
never to be forgotten. I was joined by an American from California who shared the same views as myself. My personal
highlights were the visit to Confusous Temple inc Tea Ceremony, lunch best dumplings ever tasted and the old French
Consession. My words do not do the tour justice. If you have only time for one tour during your time in Shanghai, this
is it. Look no further.
Fantastic tour! Jenny and her team were great, contacting us before the tour to see if we had questions and confirm our meeting location. Lee, our guide was great! He was timely, arrived at our hotel and reviewed the itinerary, asked us if there were changes we wanted. He was very knowledgeable and provided lots of history on the places we visited. We were very impressed with the tour and wished we had more time in the city for another tour. Book with Jenny!
Jenny was fun, knowledgeable and obviously loves her job! It was an amazing overview of the city highlights.
