This tour provides great insight into the Shanghai skyline and important locations on their busy streets. We had fun interacting with the residents as we walked along the streets and visited one of the tallest buildings in the City. Our guide was excellent and I recommend having a guide here!
Celine was such a great tour guide. It was my last day in Shanghai and I requested some shopping time and she incorporated that in the itinerary. I was transported by a comfortable and clean car with a good driver. Seeing all the sights without the effort of taking public transport was great. She also took me to a local place for lunch where I tried hairy crab dumplings which were delicious. I checked out at the hotel in the morning and loaded my baggage into the car and the car dropped me off at the airport which was so convenient. Celine has incredible knowledge and told me about the background of all sights. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Shanghai!
What a phenomenal experience! This was a full day, customized tour spending time in a local park, walking through the Yuyuan Garden, Confuscious Temple, a delicious local dumpling lunch, official tea tasting, and incredible views nearly 100 floors up of the entire city. My guide was knowledgeable, friendly, conversational and our driver was on point as well. Would absolutely recommend it!
Just the tour guide and me so a very personal experience. Enjoyed the tour.
I had only one day to tour Shanghai. Booking this tour was the right choice. Jenny was in touch to make sure all the arrangement were clear. I arrived to my hotel lobby to find Portia already waiting with a sign with my name on it. She was was very knowledgeable of her city and was able to make adjustments on the fly to accommodate the low visibility and rearranged our stops. I even got to ride a bike around a portion of town like a local and visit the Marriage Market. This is in addition to the planned stops. We were able to fit in all the things I wanted to see and I did not once feel rushed. Portia was very aware of timing to make sure I arrive with ample time to head to the airport for my flight. All in all it was a great day and I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
I was in Shanghai as a stopover to my final destination in India. I had a 16-hour stopover and decided to take a tour with Jenny's Shanghai Tours. Kim was my tour guide and he was excellent. He had a lot of patience in taking me around and explaining different areas of Shanghai. He was very thorough and overall it was a great experience. Jenny also helped guide me on how to get around Shanghai's metro and wrote out things in Chinese so that I can ask for help when needed. I would highly recommend this tour, and definitely request Kim as your guide!
Absolutely recommended! I had a great day with Kim who showed me the best things in Shanghai and helped me enjoy the city like locals do.
I strongly recommend this type of sightseeing to Shanghai. My guide Kim was very well prepared, he showed me all the most important places in Shanghai, I was able to feel the city like a local person moving by metro and bicycle. Lunch at local restaurant was delicious. Kim knew how to get into the most important places in the best way, where to buy tickets, where the queue is the smallest. I had little time to see the most important things in the city and it was the best I could do to not miss anything.
We had a fantastic experience with our tour in Shanghai. We only had one full day in town, so we though that taking a tour would be the most efficient way to spend our day. The tour surpassed our expectations, our guide was charming and funny, she took out to all the right places, and what difference it makes to be with a local. Would highly recommend this tour to anybody trying to maximize their time and experience in Shanghai. Thanks for great day.
Susie was great, she gave us loads of information and answered all our questions. Her English was very good and she had good knowledge of the different areas we visited. She also changed the tour slightly as we were ahead of schedule and she added an extra stop which was a real bonus. If you can specify a guide I can thoroughly recommend her.
Tour guide Portia is a consummate professional. I've had dealings with other reps from this company and they are similarly skilled. After completing the daylong tour with Portia I had knowledge and appreciation of Shanghai history, how to navigate the city. I found her to be resourceful. No metro station or taxi immediately available- no problem. Portia rented Mobikes for us. The sights were interesting but the tour was fun because the tour guide was interested!

Portia is my guide for this tour, she is knowledgeable and have provided a lot of info on the local culture and historical background. She takes good care of me and would recommend this tour if you do not have a lot of time.
Our guide - I think her name was Apple? -was fantastic. She managed to fit everything we wanted to see into our day and a few extras. It was a custom trip start to finish. Our driver was safe and the car comfortable.
We had a great time touring Shanghai with our very knowledgeable guide..... Portia. Although we had an idea what we wanted to see, Portia was able to suggest other worthwhile sights. It is certainly worthwhile taking a private tour if you have limited time as you are able to visit the places that interest you.
Our family had a very busy day with our tour guide, Portia, who met us promptly at the hotel. We visited the Shanghai World Financial Centre also known as The Bottle Opener, the Confucius Temple which included a Tea Ceremony, Yuyuan Garden Markets and Xintiandi. We also had a delicious traditional Chinese lunch.
The schedule is very flexible so feel free to include any sites you would like to visit. We had already visited The Bund so chose leave that from the itinerary. Note that the cost of the tour does not include entry into any of the attractions or travel.
We were a group of three so managed to get around in taxis, but if you are travelling with a large group it may be worth upgrading to the tour which includes a personal driver.
We really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it, especially if you have never been to Shanghai before.
Our tour guide was Apple, who was just wonderful. She was quite knowledgeable and fun to be with. We would highly recommend Apple and Jenny's Shanghai Tours to anyone!
I think the tour is fully dependent on the tour guide and Susie really wins it. She was at the hotel lobby before our appointed meeting time, was super friendly, could speak English very well and very flexible with the itinerary. She brought us to a local restaurant where only Chinese people ate with no English menu, and it was the only time we were able to eat like this during the trip. When we asked if it was time to end the trip, Susie recommended a couple more places we should try. She even patiently waited while I did an ear cleaning.
It was the first time we booked a tour guide for a solo tour and this is a very efficient way to get around the place.
The tour was amazing, however, the absolute best part was the tour guide. She was informative, fun, caring and all she cared about was that we saw what we wanted and that our day was special. She went above and beyond. Would recommend this tour to everyone.
Our guide was very nice and took us to a great lunch at a Shanghai food restaurant with a 1920's feel. Our tour was tailored to our requests and we had a very wonderful day in Shanghai.
Jenny was an amazing guide. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Shanghai. She was well experienced as a guide and knew all the must-see places to visit. We end booking multiple days with her company with different guides. They were all great, but Jenny was the best.
A great day with Portia in seeing all the sites of Shanghai. Tailored the day to include some food stops for a foodie along the way. Riding bikes in the city and arranging a foot massage near my hotel were a treat. A good choice if you are limited on time in Shanghai.

A friend and I had a fantastic day with Apple, our guide for the day in Shanghai this June. Apple meet us at our hotel this is handy when you are in a foreign city and went through some of the sights we might be interested in visiting for the day. Taxis are very cheap in Shanghai and we used these extensively to cover an array of activities around the city. Some of then adventures included: a silk factory, the Shanghai World Financial Tower 100th floor, a Confucius Temple and School, the French concession and a Chinese tea house where we learnt how to make green tea properly.
Apple took us to an authentic restaurant for lunch and soon worked out our shopping habits. It was a long but very enjoyable day as we were only in town for two nights on our way home from Europe. She also gave us tips for future visits. We will definitely return and hopeful cover off the balance of our lists. Later in the evening, we ventured down to the Bund by ourselves as we had become comfortable exploring this vibrant and hospitable city after our big day out.
My tour was with Jenny's Shanghai tour and it was fantastic ! Leading up to the tour I was in contact with Jenny who answered all my questions and help me decide what tour activities to keep on my schedule and what I may want to replace with other activities, such as going up in the Shanghaie tower rather than the finaicial center, and she easily added the evening river cruise as well. My guide was Apple and I could not have imagined a more friendly knowledgeable and fun guide. She really helped me get a feeling for the city and its history, adding helpful and interesting information at each step on the tour. I have 10 year visa and when I return I plan to book again with Jenny's Shanghai Tours !
Portia is a great guide from Jenny's Shanghai Tours who took us on a wonderful day exploring Shanghai on July 10th. She had great suggestions on what to see, but made sure we saw the sites we wanted to visit. she is very knowledgeable about the citys and countrys history and evolution and provides the background you need to appreciate different places we visited. She has a great sense of humor and is a caring person who makes touring fun.
