Though the horseback ride was livelier than the slow plod I had been expecting, the scenery was unbelievable. A lovely ride through vineyards, forests, olive groves and fields with gorgeous views across miles of greenery to the distant towers of San Gemignano, Montereggioni, Chianti, completely unobstructed by roads, power lines, cars, railroads, etc. The guide, Marco, was pleasant, calming and reassuring.
We had high expectations of this tour, and they were exceeded! We had a wonderful ride through the Tuscan hills, guided by Francesco and accompanied by his assistant and Aki the dog, who sniffed out pheasants and led the way for our little group. We rode at a leisurely pace through all sorts of terrain, each with its own distinctive beauty. We were collected from our hotel in central Siena and dropped off there following our ride and handled warmly, kindly and professionally all the way. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and highly recommendable.
loved it, great horses, views, and people! my mom and i did a1.5 hr trail ride.
Beautiful scenery throughout the whole ride. Very good guide and driver. Well kept healthy horses.
Excellent hosts, the staff and owner were gracious and very accomodating to our needs. The group of riders ranged from 'never on a horse' to experienced riders and every one of us enjoyed the ride.
Thanks for a terrific experience.
could not have been better; it was the highlight of my whole trip, delightful people
This was awesome! Sabrina - the wife of the guy who owns the ranch picked me up. she was the sweetest lady. I got to walk around before the tour started. Our guide was pretty funny and the countryside is beautiful! They even gave us wine from the vineyards we went through once we were back. amazing!
This tour was quite simply, AWESOME! Such a great guide, friendly atmosphere and well trained horses. Thank you so much, for such an amazing afternoon.
Outstanding experience. We were picked up at the siena train station and driven to the family stables for the ride. Horses were very sweet and gentle, the tour guide was very pleasant and nice. The scenery was spectacular with rolling hills and a view of the chianti harvest region. This trip was well worth the price and we would highly recommend it. This is not a fly by night operation, but a real family run business..
No experience necessary, very gentle and interesting ride through the fields and woods of the Tuscan countryside. Very pleasant and a nice experience, well worth doing!
I expected a bit more of actual explanation about the region, the area, etc... But it was just a horse back riding walk through the fields around an Equestrian Club. Nevertheless, it was a nice experience.
This was nice to ride in the Tuscan Hills, the views were beautiful. All you did was walk on the horse, great for people who don't ride much.
We really loved the tour-it was run very efficiently and safely! The sights and trails were beautiful! Our trail guide pointed out various highlights during the trip.
This tour was quite nice. Lovely views of the countryside. Well behaved horses. Friendly owner. Very pleasant way to spend a morning.
Beautiful scenery and a relaxing way to enjoy the countryside. Staff were helpful and friendly. No previous riding experience required
The tour itself was fantastic! My guide was excellent, and everyone at the stables was very helpful and friendly.
The only negative of the whole experience was that my ride was 30 minutes late picking me up.
This was a great excursion. Staff at the riding facility were great. They went out of their way to make sure I had an enjoyable experience. Loved the horse, Asterick, he was amazing. The only issue I had was that I drove into Siena to be picked up, only to find out that the riding facility was right near my villa. I then got back into my car and followed them to the barn. The company booking needs to communicate better with the customer and the riding facility. I could have been picked up right at my door.
It was a decent experience but would not recommend it to others. Our ride to the farm was very nice however our guide during the horseback ride didn't seem very enthused and the horseback ride was a bit boring and slow.
The other reviewers appear to have had a much better time (wine was offered?!). It was pleasant, but not more and at E 70, not worth it. We walked the horses slowly for 90 minutes. The guide mostly didn't bother to put his feet in the stirrups or speak. We reached no vistas, though the hils surrounding us were beautiful. For the return car ride to where I was picked up, the driver, Sabrina, became busy. She asked her father-in-law, who apparently didn't speak English, to handle the task. He pulled up in her car, but full of groceries and with his wife. We waited while they unloaded. It didn't seem so much like a tour as "I know a guy." and they squeezed us in. I was able to book this tour on two-day's notice, but at almost twice the price of the one I wanted, Voltrana, which offers to include a (bit longer) ride along a ridge and was only E38. Voltrana was booked; not surprising. I'd give this one star, but the (only) other rider was an English woman was really a dearie as was Contessa, the Stables English Bulldog.
