What You Can Expect

Singapore Shore Excursion: Singapore's Cultural Heritage Tour

Singapore's Chinatown

Get a personalized introduction to the multicultural city of Singapore on this 4-hour shore excursion, which begins with pickup at the port by private vehicle. You’ll travel to three districts that highlight Indian, Malay and Chinese heritage.

First, stroll with your guide through Little India, a spice-scented treasure trove of storefronts brimming with brassware, silverware and dazzling silk saris. You’ll find jasmine garlands, incense and Indian sweets among the numerous storefronts of Little India Arcade on Campbell Lane.

Your next stop is Arab Street, the heart of Singapore's Muslim community. Among a dense concentration of shops and restaurants you’ll find textile stores draped with vibrantly dyed batiks and other merchandise reflecting the Islamic world, including jewelry, basket ware and antiques.

Check out the Sultan Mosque before continuing on to Chinatown, whose narrow streets and refurbished shophouses are home to a significant community of Chinese immigrants. Inform your guide of your interests and go in search of teahouses, Chinese medicine purveyors and calligraphers that have practiced their time-honored trades for generations.

Browse the fascinating stalls for souvenirs before your cultural heritage tour ends with return transport to the Singapore cruise terminal.

This was sofar the Best tour we have ever taken. The guide was very knowledgeable about his country and city. We saw so much in a short 4 hours, but we never felt rushed. I would recommend this guide and tour 1000.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended June 2015

Our guide Desmin is such an ambassador for his country that we are ready to move there. This was a very authentic, non tourist-type experience in each of the three cultures. Every minute was well spent.

5 star rating: Highly Recommended November 2014

Our guide was outstanding..going over and above the line of duty. Not only was she very knowledgeable but very helpful. There were four of us and we had to go to the airport to forward luggage on to another stop. She saved us not only time, but a potential huge headache by stopping during our tour, guiding us to the right DHL counter ( cheaper by far than the airline) and helping to expedite the transaction all within the allotted tour time

5 star rating: Highly Recommended April 2014

An excellent way to see and understand Singapore, especially if your time is limited. The guide was knowledgeable about the history of the Hindu, Muslim and Chinese communities and the walk through their neighborhoods, with special attention to their customs, buildings and customs, was well-spent time.
