Your Singapore Turf Club experience starts with hotel pickup. When you arrive at the club, make your way to the air-conditioned Owners’ Lounge, a VIP spot where you can enjoy amenities not available in the general-admission grandstands. Purchase drinks or food from the full-service bar and restaurant (own expense), relax at a selected table with personal TV screens for an up-close view of the race, and place your bets at a private betting counter.
Horse races take place on Friday evenings, when you can watch the thoroughbred action under bright lights, as well as weekend afternoons. This is a great way to experience another side of Singapore, where horse racing started in 1842. The Turf Club has become a prominent fixture on the international racing circuit since it moved to this section of Singapore, Kranji, in 1999. With a price tag of more than $500 million and modern technology like the glass-sided horse walk, which goes through the grandstand and joins the parade ring to the track, the 200-acre (81-hectare) venue is one of the world’s premier racecourses. Accolades include a Recognition Award from the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its ‘whimsical’ design, which includes the El-Toro Zoysia grass track.
When the racing is over, your experience ends with hotel drop-off.
