Loved the way they helped us understand Singapore !! From understanding the real hidden history of Chinatown and going through the some of the dark underbelly of Singapore to understanding how Singapore became what it is today. Special appreciation to our guide who made the tour exciting and answered all our questions...
First - a heads up. This is not really a 'cultural and historical tour of Chinatown', it is a tour of Singapore's red light districts, past and present, that starts in Chinatown.
WOW! This tour was amazing. Our guide really knew her stuff, was friendly, and really seemed to love her job. We started off in Chinatown, where we went through a restored house cum museum which showed what conditions were like way back when. We then walked through Chinatown to meet the bus, with the guide telling us stories specific to the places we were moving through. She really brought it to life.
We then caught a chartered bus into the very much current red light district of Geylang. Those willing were given the opportunity to try 'shellfish' hmm... turtle! crocodile! lauded by some locals for its virility-increasing powers at a restaurant, before we walked through the main street and some very well lit, only in Singapore back alleys.
All in all, a fantastic night and highly recommended tour. Our guide was fantastic, and it was great to see the other side of Singapore's squeaky clean reputation.
This tour is absolutely amazing! Really a must for everyone who wants to unravel the deepest secrets of singapore. Our tour guide Sharul was so knowledgeable, funny and entertaining! this is my third viator tour in singapore and this one is beyond comparison. AMAZING
A great experience, full of info and fun would recomend as NOT TO BE MISSED
We found the tour very interesting and enjoyed Nancy's presentation. Would have done a food tour but there was none avail on the Saturday night.

We enjoyed the tour; it was informative, and we learned a lot from the guide with regards to the history of Singapore as well as Chinatown. This was was a lot of walking for us, but we enjoyed every minute of it.

The tour was informative and insightful. I would definitely recommend this one as well as go on more tours in the future.
Tour numbers should be limited, I felt there were too many people in the group. However the tour leader was great!

Great tour with an interesting and knowledgeable guide.
An interesting review of the more seedy side of Singapore.
Really good but felt it was a bit to long we left before the end as did a few other people

Good although main emphasis on history as a red light district. I would prefer a balance of that and more general information.
i was so sick that I didnt make this tour,im sure it would have been fine though
prompt start but overal a little disappointing. Two groups of people left before the end so I don't think we were alone in how we felt. The guide took a little while to get going and then became interesting and took us to parts we probably would have not seen, but didn't really tell many stories of the past, she seemed very concerned with informing us about the present day prostitutes and where to go to find them. The last part of the evening was really a little boring and dragged out.

I suggest that this tour should have started a little earlier, so we weren't eating dinner at 9.30pm at night.
