A nice Pink Salmon on the fly.
Create your own A River Runs Through It experience with this full-day fly-fishing trip in Sitka. There are three rivers in Sitka that have productive fishing for both salmon and Arctic char. On this trip, you’ll get to explore more than one location and fish for more than one species. All fishing equipment, along with waders, are provided.
Travel by passenger vehicle to the access points on the rivers, which aren’t big, but friendly and manageable to fish in. Learn about the local salmon and trout, including Chinook, silver, chum, pink, steelhead, rainbow and cutthroat, as well as Dolly Varden char and Arctic grayling. From the shoreline and the estuaries, rockfish, greenling, and flounder are good bets.
Your guide leads you to the best places to fish based on run timing, tides, and the weather. In the early season, you can find steelhead and char in the lower rivers and estuaries. In July, as the salmon start to run, you’ll move up the rivers.
