Skagway Shore Excursion: Half-Day Tour to the Yukon Border

Half-Day Tour to the Yukon Border

After pickup from Skagway port, board your transport and drive along the Klondike Highway in British Columbia. Amid stunning mountain scenery, pass landmarks including Brackett Wagon Road, WP&YR railroad, Moore Creek Bridge and Pitchfork Falls. During the day, keep watch for moose, bears, birds, sheep and goats.

Ascend 3,292 feet (1003 meters) to White Pass summit, a route that thousands of stampeders journeyed in 1898 during the Gold Rush in search of fortune. Enter Tormented Valley, a subarctic alpine tundra with a beautiful lake.

Travel into northern boreal forests and stop at Tutshi and Windy Arm lakes, surrounded by towering peaks. Make a final stop at the Yukon border sign and take a souvenir photo of your shore excursion. Afterward, enjoy transport back to your cruise ship in Skagway.

Please note: All passengers must have a valid passport.

Mike was our tour guide and he made the tour interesting, educational and fun! The scenery was spectacular. This was my 2nd time going on this tour and it was one of the highlights of our Alaskan cruise.

Our tour guide Tabitha was awesome! she was full of stories and information and was most welcoming and friendly. we had only 6 total on the tour so it felt like a personal guided activity. the sights and scenery to the Yukon were awesome and she did a fantastic job in relating it all to us!

I think this bus tour is better than the train as we can get on and off for photos. Connor from Frontier Excursions gave us a really good rundown of the areas we went to, took our photos and even recited a poem for straight 5 minutes! Skagway is our favourite over Juneau and Ketchikan.

Wow! If you don and #39;t want to take the train this is the best alternative. Our guide was great - a local and so knowledgeable! Scenery was beautiful- make sure you have a water bottle to fill with fresh mountain water, and a camera to take lots of beautiful pictures. We even saw a black bear!
