Follow your guide on a short tour of downtown Skagway, hop on a Unimog—a multipurpose, all-wheel drive vehicle—for a ride up a mountain, and then take a sled ride with Alaskan huskies through Tongass National Park. Afterward, get a chance to spend time with husky puppies.

All ages are welcome, and most special needs may be accommodated. Round-trip transportation provided. Must have mobility to walk 100 yards either on your own or with assistance. Must be able to raise knee 12 inches to accommodate (approximately 12 steps).

So much fun!

Haley was our driver- she was a lot of fun, very knowledgeable. The trip to and from the mushers camp was as much fun as the camp. The scenery was beautiful- so high up. We saw a brown bear and a fox-so close to the road. The camp was clean and well kept. The dogs were so excited to see us and “do their job”. We were in the cart where the dogs had to make a wide sharp turn to get back into their starting position. They knew right where to go. The actual time on the mushing cart was a little short but it was fun. The puppies were adorable.

The dogs were wonderful and were very healthy and happy. They looked like they live to pull those carts. Everyone was just great and our group had a fabulous time. This is a group that really takes care of the dogs. We learned a lot. We’ll go again next time. Loved it.

This was a great excursion for all ages! Puppies, trained sled dogs, beautiful views it was great! My only complaint was how short the ride and time with the dogs was. Wish it was longer and more relaxed but it was a ton of fun and super informative

This was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. Our guide, Ben, was great, and half the fun was the tour of Skagway and picture opportunities away from the actual dog sled experience. The dogs were REALLY into it, and my 12-year-old especially loved it.

I went with two of my friends and this made our day! The sledding was so fun and the dogs were so happy :). They taught us a little bit more about dog sledding and then we got to pet the puppies, teenage, and retired sled dogs. SO fun!

Sled dog ride and more

It was quite a unique experience. Our tour guide Patrick was informative and funny and we really enjoy being with him. It was cool to ride up the mountain to get to the sled dogs, meet the dogs and go for a ride with the 16 dogs pulling the sled. Then we got to spend times with the puppies. We got to pet them and hold them which if you love animals made it quite special.
