What You Can Expect

Full-Day Amalfi Coast and Positano Boat Excursion from Sorrento

The Amalfi Coast

Meet your guide at your Sorrento hotel prior to a 9:30 a.m. departure time (confirm exact time with tour provider). Drive roughly 15 minutes in an air-conditioned car or minivan to the Massa Lubrense Port, where you will board your boat with a maximum of 12 passengers and set off along the Amalfi Coast.

Cruise around the Gulf of Salerno on a comfortable boat equipped with Wi-Fi, a stereo, and first-aid. Stop to snorkel and swim at Li Galli Island, a private island inaccessible by car, before continuing to the town of Amalfi. Shop, dine, and stroll during free time in this beachside resort town.

Then, return to your boat for a tomato and mozzarella sandwich and a drink en route to Positano. Once you land, wander the steep, narrow streets of this cliffside town in search of a good view or a good espresso from one of the many sidewalk cafes; your guide can point you in the right direction.

Climb back aboard your boat and cruise back to Massa Lubrense Port. Return to your accommodations by roughly 6 p.m.

This trip from Sorrento was the highlight of our recent journey. Nello the skipper was very knowledgeable of the unique areas of the coastline. He brought us up close to many of these unique formations and water sites. Visiting Positano and Amalfi by boat is a great way to see each town and avoid the potential traffic jams on the small cliff road. My opinion, this is the way to visit the coastal towns.

Beautiful day and perfect way to see the Amalfi Coast, loved it! The day started off as a bit cloudy but as we left Sorrento the clouds cleared up and became a beautiful sunny day. After some time on the boat we stopped for an aperitif on board before we continued south the coast. It was a new and very comfortable boat. The crew was friendly and very knowledgeable and kept us updated on the trip, we felt safe in their hands. Seeing the coastline from the sea is a completely different experience to seeing it from land and you'll be surprised how beautiful it is!

We really enjoyed this full-day Amalfi Coast tour. There is no better way to see the coastline than from a boat. The boat captain and his mate did a nice job but there was no microphone on the boat so it was difficult to hear what she was saying. There were people laying on the front of the boat and she would have to run back and forth telling us what to look for. The time in the town of Amalfi was two hours which was a little long. Outside of that, it was a delightful day and I would highly recommend it. The captain and mate appeared to work hard for us to have an enjoyable day.
