Great day out. Weather was good so we had brilliant views from the top of Vesuvius. Pompeii visit was amazing. Whole day was made extra special by our brilliant tour guide Lia who was both knowledgeable, helpful and entertaining.
This tour was great. We were met in a parking lot by the guide, Lea who was super friendly and funny. We started by going to Mt. Vesuvius first. For those who wanted to go to the top the awesome bus driver Pepe left us about a 20 minute climb to the top. And it is a diagonal climb up the side of a mountain up on an enclosed dirt/rocky road where no cars are allowed and a guy will let you use a walking stick for a few euros. Once you make it to the top the view is absolutely amazing, you see the bay of Naples on the way up and then get to look into a volcano, which was smoking, it was very exciting. Once you make your way down and get back onto the very comfortable coach bus you are taken to a restaurant within two minutes of the entrance to Pompeii. Once in the ancient city the Guide Lea was amazing. She walked and talked non stop while answering questions and pointing out all in view worth mentioning. And she did all this while in heels and and practically backwards as she addressed the group to make sure we were all paying attention. This was a great and informative tour that I would absolutely recommend.
We absolutely love this store! Getting to look inside Mount Vesuvius was mind-blowing and walking through Pompeii left us speechless. This may have been the best thing that we did during our entire time in Italy. Our tour guide was very informative and help us see Pompeii in a way we could relate to
This was on my bucket list and I was very happy with this tour. We had a fabulous guide who had so much history on both of these sites. She was a very friendly and enthusiastic person. On the Mt Vesuvius walk I would recommend taking the stick from the man offering it to you before you climb. Found it to be so helpful particularly that long steep 20min walk up. Well worth the tip you give him!
I would of course recommend a trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius. Tour guide was very good. However I have to mention that admission to Pompeii and Vesuvius is not included in the tour price. They are an additional €13 and €11 each. I think this needs to be clear when booking.
On a wet blustery day in August, our guide Sonia took us on a journey of discovery that without her would have been a total mystery. She brought every part of Pompeii to life, enthralling an inquisitive 10 year old and fascinating us adults - thankyou. We would have missed so much of what Pompeii was without her.
As for Vesuvius, apart from nearly being blown away !!! It was amazing , stout shoes and plenty to drink were essential, but what a wonderful experience
Great Tour, very interesting and informative. Was a little unorganised getting onto the right coach at the pick up point, but nothing that was too stressful. I would recommend making sure that you wear the correct footwear for the walk up to the top of Vesuvius. We wore flat but open toed shoes. You definitely need closed toed shoes for this one! Take the sticks that are available for a small donation. Not recommended for those who have difficulty walking.
Comfortable, air-conditioned coach, friendly and interesting guide. Can't miss seeing Pompeii and Vesuvius and this was a great way to do both in one trip.
Beautiful experience. A very knowledgeable and professional driver.
Our guide tour was emanuela, she was great as well.
We enjoyed everything as it was mentioned in the excursion description.
Highly recommend this tour if you want to see both Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii, the city the mountain destroyed. You start the tour with a trek up Mt. Vesuvius. It takes only 20 minutes to go up but prepare as it can get steep, very quickly. You will go for a quick lunch in local Italian eatery where they have set menus prepared. At around 1pm, you will go around the city of Pompeii. The tour guide took us to the most famous areas of the city except for that of the brothel which of course everyone wanted to see. As this tour was in early July, the heat was almost unbearable. Proper shoes, sun protection and water are must brings.
Organization at the start of the day could be done better. The parking area where we met was crowded with about 200 tourists and about 10 buses/operators. Can become a bit messy but everything worked fine in the end.
