Wonderful day trip. Our guide was knowledgeable, spoke English very well and was warm and courteous. She made the tour through both Salerno and museum and site at Paestum enjoyable. She had lots of information on the way to the sites and at the end allowed for some quiet time as we returned home to Sorrento. Well worth the money, a great trip

This was actually our favorite day trip while we were in Italy. Salerno was a nice stop off, and Paestum was very interesting we had the right amount of time in the ruins and the museum. I would highly recommend this to anyone using Sorrento or Naples as a base for exploring the area. Although Paestum is quite a bit further South than either of these locations, the ride was scenic and relaxing. The tour provided a little taste of Greek history, and the guide was very good. Be sure to read up on the history of the area and its multi-cultural influences before the trip.

Paestum is really off the beaten path when it comes to historic sites in Italy. That may be starting to change as the area around the historic site is becoming more built up. Christine, the tour guide, is immensely knowledgeable and has so many fascinating things to share along the drive and at the sites in both Salerno and Paestum. In Salerno you have the option of continuing the tour into the cathedral of simply spending the time on your own in the city. Getting to Salerno and Paestum from Sorrento takes a fair amount of time. There is a lunch break and the food was very good. If you're a history buff then you'll really like this, if not then you'll probably be bored. If you're somewhere in between then I'd say give it a shot. If nothing else, it is unique and not a place that many tourists visit.

As an ancient history major Paystub was on my bucket list during our trip to Italy. Being able to walk amongst the ruins allowed a perspective into what their world would have been like. Salerno was for us - just an add on as part of the tour. But surprise, it turned out to be a highlight of the tour. The crypt in St. Matthew's church rivaled any other domo - even the Vatican albeit a lot smaller. If you love history, this is a great tour.

Highly underrated when going to Southern Italy since everyone wants to go to Pompeii however, this is an excellent site with wonderfully intact ruins. The museum is also great. Our tour guide was very informative, albeit a little speedy. Salerno was a nice city, but I think the tour could work without stopping at this city and rather seeing another typical southern Italian town.
