Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour and Tasting

Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour and Tasting

Arrive at Laverstoke Mill, located on the River Test, 15 miles (24 kilometers) outside Winchester. Once a Victorian paper mill that produced paper for the Bank of England's banknote paper, the site dates all the way back to the 10th century.

Walk into the courtyard to admire the Victorian architecture and stroll around the distillery, stopping at the interactive audio points. Learn about the history of the area, of gin in general and of Bombay Sapphire in particular.

Visit the twin greenhouses that contain live samples of the 10 botanicals found in the world-famous gin. In the Botanical Dry Room, smell and taste dried examples of these signature botanicals; choose your favorite to help inform your choice of cocktail later.

Go behind the scenes in the Dakin Still House, listening to your host explain the vapor infusion process. Taste a small sample of the gin as it comes off the still, then head for the Mill Bar for your complimentary cocktail.

Excellent tour and the sniff test to find your ideal cocktail and the glass domes made it all the more interesting.

Well worth a visit especially if you are a gin lover. Our tour was taken by Helen who had a fun personality and full of information. If there was a question she couldn't answer at the time she went to find out the answer and came back to us while we were enjoying our cocktails. Would definitely go again but in the summer maybe as it is in very beautiful surroundings.

Very interesting, crowded, free cocktail slightly disappointing!
