Your day begins with pickup from your central Makassar hotel. Traveling by private vehicle, set out on the scenic journey into the Malino Highlands, stopping to take photos and admire the views as you wind through the mountains. Along the way, listen as your guide explains the region’s history, once the heartlands of the Gowa Kingdom and an important trade center for the Dutch settlers.
Climb to a height of 3,444 feet (1,050 meters) above sea level, passing through lush forests and mountainside tea plantations. Jump out to admire one of the region’s most prized beauty spots, the dramatic Takapala Waterfalls, and spend time walking or photographing the natural wonders of the highlands.
After lunch (included) at a local restaurant, head back to Makassar for a visit to the Ballampoa Museum, where the ancient history of Sulawesi is retold through a fascinating exhibition of artifacts and heirlooms dating back to the Gowan kings and sultans.
Your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel around 4pm.
