Experience the exciting rapids of Croatia’s longest river, Cetina, for this day-long white-water rafting extravaganza. Meet your guide in the center of Split and then drive comfortably to the river. Paddle in hand, navigate 7 miles (11 kilometers) of waterway and enjoy the scenic Croatian countryside along the way. Stop for a swim in the clear and clean river and then indulge in a heart Croatian lunch (at your own expense) before heading back to Split.
The river is classified as grade 11-111, which means its rapids are moderate to difficult. This white-water rafting trip is best for people who are in good physical condition and people who have already experienced this level of rapids.
This is a real adrenaline-pumping experience! The rapids are naturally fast flowing — and in some places turbulent — so, be prepared for an exciting challenge. Lunch is a relaxing finale, and you’ll have fun recounting the day’s adventures with your 'raftmates.'
Begin the day at Diocletian’s Palace in the center of Split and then hop on an air-conditioned minivan for the brief ride to the Cetina River. Stop to admire the river from the top of the canyons before learning about proper white-water rafting technique and getting all your safety equipment, such as getting fitted with a lifejacket and a helmet. The water temperature varies from 57-32 degrees Fahrenheit (14-17 degrees Celsius), so a wetsuit is provided, if you wish to use one.
The rafts hold up to seven people plus the onboard skipper. As you paddle down the river, you’ll be going about 7 miles (11 kilomters) in total, drink in the views of the Croatian countryside and the moss-covered walls of the canyon that flanks the river at times. Expect the flow to change up at times, going from calm to slightly rough and then placid again. And don’t forget you can jump off the raft and take a swim.
After the 3-hour journey down the river, indulge in a hearty Croatian lunch at Radmanove Mlinice restaurant (at own expense), a traditional spot that makes its own bread
After 3 hours on the river, paddle to shore and then finish your raft ride at a traditional bread-making restaurant called Radmanove Mlinice. After using the restaurant’s facilities to freshen up, take a well-earned rest in its garden. Refuel with a lunch at your own expense (fruit, water, beer and soft drinks are not included) and serves dishes like fresh grilled trout and roasted lamb.
After freshening up, board the minivan for the hour-long journey back to Split.
The whole trip was a positive experience! Beautiful scenery and a very safe journey down the river. Our tour guides were extremely helpful and kept us safe throughout. Would not hesitate to recommend this trip to family and friends!
Really good fun!
