Loved our visit to Krka Waterfalls. It was very crowded being peak season. Despite the crowd, we were still able to swim in the beautiful water.
We thoroughly enjoyed this day out but don't get caught up in the special lunch the guide offers for 100Kuna - it's not that it's overly expensive it's just rubbish food and you can get a baguette or a crepe and spend more time looking around or swimming.
The falls and the whole park are really stunning and all the info given about the growing travertine stone, the area and it's history was great. Even on our day which was a bit rainy, the park is absolutely jammed with people and I would suggest you take a pair of converse or similar shoes to swim in because the stone is quite sharp. Don't expect any kind of beach or to be allowed near the falls - it's a wild river and the swimming area is clearly marked out.
The side trip to Sibenik and the St James Cathedral there is fantastic. Our guide knew so much about this UNESCO World Heritage Church and it was great to hear all of it. The baptismal downstairs is also really lovely. Sibenik itself is a lovely town to see also.
Amazing tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and organised. We had an amazing time swimming and felt like the waterfall was something from a dream pardise! A must if your traveling to Split.
It wasn and #39;t just the waterfall. Thanks to our guide Dario, the trip from Split to Krka was fun and full of stories. We learned about the long history of Split besides stopping at beautiful scenic places and the beautiful Krka waterfalls. Best way to visit the national park if you have a day.
Our guide was incredible! He had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. This place is like a fairytale. It was so gorgeous! We did a small 1 mile hike through a very easy to follow trail and had plenty of time to swim at the waterfall. I highly recommend this tour!
We booked the Krka Tour from Split in an air-conditioned mini-bus that collected us from our hotel. Our guide, Dario, was great - charming, interesting, nothing too much trouble - and kept up a running commentary about all the historical landmarks on our trip out to Krka. Once there, we had an hour long walk through the park taking in the many waterfalls, rivers, and teeming wildlife. The views were spectacular and we loved every minute. Dario even had his own way of talking to the local frogs - you had to hear them reply to believe it! On the way back we had a short stop over in the quaint town of Sibenik with its amazing cathedral and charming alleys. Overall, a trip not to be missed. Just make sure you ask for Dario!
The tour was great. It started off rocky as our tour reservation was somehow lost and no one showed up for the tour. The staff, however, QUICKLY remedied the situation and we ended up with a private tour. Darijo was great and a wealth of knowledge! It was a beautiful day and we learned so much of Croatia's history.
Really worth it and so much fun!
This tour was really well run - I don't prefer to use tours when abroad since I tend to find it easier to go solo and take my time. However, this tour really was well worth it. The guide Darijo spoke many languages, was so knowledgeable and showed and told us really interesting things we would probably have never picked up. the bus is comfortable, the time spent on our own was plenty, fun happy day go for it!
Thoroughly recommend this day trip. All very straight forward in terms of logistics. Krka is amazing and Sibenik is quaint and interesting. Our guide - Darijus sp. was friendly and extremely well informed - as well as being quite funny. He definitely added to the trip being so great.
We had lots of fun!! it is a beautiful Place and the town is really interesting. The Cafe is just cheap and cheerful, and we ate there independently from the group.
Very nice tour. Our guide gave a lot of information during the bus rides and did a nice tour of the cathedral in Sibenik. The waterfalls were great. We had plenty of time there. We walked the trails twice, swam, and had lunch with plenty of time.
Since we were the only people booked on this tour on that day we were merged with another bigger group. On the one hand we were happy that we could go at all, but on the other we got much less than what we paid for e.g. no guide for the park, very large group and other people on the same bus paid considerably less for the same trip. Since I didn't really take the tour as indicated here, I won't comment much more. However, be aware that if you book this tour in the off-season, you might not get what you paid for. However, this seems to be common practise, since we had several other people on the bus from other tour operators that were telling us the same story.
Dario was a great guide, very impressed he spoke 5 languages! The Krka Waterfalls were very busy but once in the water it was wonderful and refreshing. Worth a day there if you have the time.
The tour was rubbish and over priced, Dario was very rude and pre planned a meal for us if we wanted it for 100 kuna each, the meal was disgusting, we didn't even eat it! The walking tour around Sibenik was uninteresting and again the tour guide was very rude, same with krka tour, was very short and unimpressive.
