Start with your pickup from the meeting point in Split or Trogir, then begin the trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park: your guide shares some background about the park and Croatia along the way, and you have scenic views of the countryside throughout the trip.

Upon arrival in Plitvice Lakes National Park, stretch your legs on a hike through the forest, following the guide on a trail to the park’s upper lakes. Hop in a boat at the lakes for the ride to the lower lakes, or Donja Jezera, a picture-perfect cluster surrounded by thick trees.

The national park is the perfect place to see geology in action, as the rivers and streams that flow through the Plitvice Lakes continue to shape the karst formations and rock landscape visible during your tour. After visiting the park, it is time for an optional lunch in a nearby local restaurant.

This tour concludes with a return trip to Trogir or Split.

Please note; the itinerary may be adjusted due to the traffic, flooded trails, or bad weather conditions in the park.

Great experience
Claudia_K, May 2023
Our guide Peter was great and told us many interesting facts during the 2.5 hour bus ride to Plitvice. It may have been a bit rushed walking through the area, but Peter was able to guide us in a different direction to try and avoid the crowds.
The most amazing waterfalls I have ever see

Our driver from Split was informative, engaging, and amusing. The tour guide in the national park was informative and excellent at keeping the group together. He was great in making sure that all members of the group had the opportunity to hear the critical aspects of the ecology and natural history of Lake Plitvice.

Wonderful time and our guide was fabulous! He explained things, took his time and answered ever question. Took us to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch and afterwards showed us some local bears. He even bought us fruit to feed them!! Highly recommend!

The guide was excellent (Peter? Unsure of spelling sorry). He was extremely knowledgeable and ensured we had an amazing experience. We were very fortunate to attend on a very low attendance day in the park and were able to fully enjoy it without over crowding. But even if there were lots if people, it would still have been breathtakingly beautiful.
Plitvice Lakes a must do trip for your agenda
Anthony_G, Sep 2022
Both the driver and the guide Peter were very skilled in their respective jobs. Peter gave us a running commentary on the history of the area where we were travelling. Peter guided us through the various lake pathways with skill and determination. A fun day was had by all because he had planned it so well even with stop overs. Thank you both the driver and Peter.
A great day

We had a very enjoyable day at the lakes. We were a small group and out very experienced guide, who accompanied us throughout the day, knew exactly what to do to avoid the crowds. The place is beautiful and the guide was kind enough to answer all my questions and to offer to take pictures of me, as I was travelling alone. At the end of the day he took us to a restaurant where we had an amazing meal. It was a very nice day, though I would not recommend going on a group tour if you have mobility problems, since it is a long walk (about 6 km). We had an elder couple in our group that said they could do it, but in the middle of the path they decided to go back and wait for us, and the guide kindly showed them which path to take. I highly recommend getting a guide for the lakes, like this company offers, because we saw lots of people who were completely lost. The guide will also know how to avoid the crows and what time to take the bus and the train.

The lakes were gorgeous! Rain not so much. Our guide, Nina, was super knowledgeable and lots of fun. I would recommend but in good weather. Lots of walking. Wear sturdy shoes.

Loved it!
Mariana_P, Sep 2022
Loved this tour and so glad we booked it. We were on a minibus with a total of 12 people, so it felt very personal. The tour guide was very funny and knowledgeable, learned some cool facts about Split and Croatia. We got to the entrance of the park, took a scenic bus ride to the upper lakes, then casually strolled down through the waterfalls and lakes. Stopped at a cafeteria style restaurant on the way back - food was very good. Highly recommend!

Sarkis_M, Aug 2022
We had good time. Driver was very knowledgeable and great showing us around. He knew in and out of the lake. He name is Toni with an I because Croatias don't have Y in their alphabet. Thank you From: Sarkis M.
Excellent tour!
Thalia_F, Aug 2022
Great tour and our guide, Franco, was excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable. Plitvice park is huge and beautiful, and Franco guided us through the waterfall section. There were lots of people and queues at photo spots, but we followed Franco and so skipped the worst of it. I loved the cave, so recommend doing it (not scary, no bats, just steep stairs). Lunch at the restaurant afterwards was fab - I had the hunters pizza with the wildboar sausage - yum!
Fabulous Full day trip

Fabulous trip, Andre was a fantastic guide , a wealth of knowledge, friendly and entertaining. Would definitely recommend.
Views are amazing!
Kim_N, Aug 2022
Toni was a great tour guide and made sure we got there safely and saw all the important parts of the National Park because it is a huge area. It is a great small group tour so you don't have to wait for such a large group. We were able to speed through the line for the most popular spots which is great.
Wonderful visit
Valentin_S, Aug 2022
Wonderful visit, clearly the place to go if you want to see beautiful landscapes in Croatia. Special thanks to our guide Igor who is very passionate and made us fall in love with the lakes.
Stunning and beautiful trip
Jinsong_J, Aug 2022
The guild was very nice and picked beautiful routes. This park is extremely beautiful and a must go.
Beautiful lakes, not worth 8 hours of driving
Jennifer_M, Aug 2022
Overall, a fairly positive experience. We took the large 6-row passenger van from Split and it was very comfortable compared to taking a large coach bus which would not have seemed as intimate. We are traveling with our 18 & 15-yr old kids to Croatia from the US. We have been to Iceland, Israel, Dominican Republic, etc so are familiar with group tours, beautiful sites, etc. Plitvice was beautiful with bright blue natural lakes & waterfalls and has planks or packed ground surface so don't need hiking shoes, just comfortable walking shoes. And, quite a bit of it was shaded so even on a hot day it wasn't bad. We took a couple of breaks which helped because it's a lot of long hiking up a lot of stairs and inclines. This trip however was far too long of a drive (over 3.5 hours) for it to be worth it. Plitvice Lakes were beautiful, don't get me wrong. But our entire journey was on a bus where the drive played Croatian music the entire time on a tour of English-speaking people. I love music from other countries, and want to be immersed in the culture when I travel, but this was outdated, old-man music that sounded like we were in a Russian celebration rally. And the driver drove SO slow that everyone was passing us on the highway, and I mean EVERYONE. Our guide, Petar was very nice & knowledgeable, but it didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Focused very much on what could go wrong (long lines, bad traffic, waiting). I like that he prepared us for stuff that could go wrong, but he spoke in a monotone voice, never smiled and kept telling us the bad stuff that might happen. He DID save the day by doing the park in reverse so we didn't have to wait an hour, yes an HOUR in line for an average waterfall. So, I can't understate that enough that Petar made the best of the situation that Plitvice is, which is very long lines. Overall, beautiful lakes. Not worth 8-hours of driving. The meal at the end at the local restaurant was delicious. Huge menu and the portions are enormous, so I recommend sharing. This is coming from an American who knows big portions too! I recommend the meats on the split, as they're prepared right on the spot. Waitstaff was fast and very good.

Excellent day trip from Split
Bohdan_C, Aug 2022
The tour guide, Petar, did a very good job of navigating the park and making sure we saw everything without having to wait a long time in line. The parks are definitely worth the drive to go see, would recommend packing your own snacks.

Amazing day out!
Dimple_S, Jul 2022
Tour guide was amazing. He sent a WhatsApp on the day with pinned meet up location. Great knowledge about split for the journey. It’s a 3.5 to 4 hour journey one way with one stop half way through. Cannot complement the tour guide enough, Andre was great. Food options at the park can be limited if you have dietary preferences e.g vegetarian/vegan so take a packed lunch. Lunch ques can be long also. Avoid travel in peak season due to heat and cues in the park but would overall HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Wonderful sights and excellent guide
Savannah_Z, Jul 2022
The park is absolutely gorgeous and unique. Nikolina was an amazing tour guide. She gave lots of facts and knew the park well enough so we were able to skip most lines while still seeing it all. Her upbeat attitude and knowledge really added to the park's natural beauty.

Stunningly Beautiful
Rhonda_T, Jul 2022
Plitvice Lakes was one of the highlights of our Croatia trip. It is an all-day trip with about a 5 mile hike (mostly flat with very little inclines). Our guide gave us a brief history of the area and surroundings. He also was good about mixing the hike with a tram back down the mountain. There is no shortage of beautiful waterfalls, lakes, trees and streams. This place is so gorgeous it is worth trip. We took so many pictures, and they really only capture a fraction of the beauty. Bus was comfortable and made stops along the way. Definitely recommend.
Old bus with no working toilet. Excellent guide.
Guilherme_F, Jul 2022
Bus with no working toilet. Old and not very confortable bus. Excellent guide with lots of info on history and curiosities about Croatia and the region.
Beautiful
Rachael_C, Jul 2022
Beautiful lakes and waterfalls, our guide and driver (both Anthony) were great and allowed us to walk around in our own time so it didn't feel rushed. Would love to have spent more time there.
Great guide and beautiful views
Angel_T, Jul 2022
Toni was great at explaining the history of Split and then leading us around the park and answering our questions. He was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Our driver also drove steadily despite the winds.
Totally awe inspiring experience

Fantastic waterfalls and scenery
Howard_S, May 2022
We did the Krka Park the day before and was wondering if this would be as good. It was and it is worth going to both. This is bigger with more of a wooded area. The waterfalls were spectacular and the scenery was magnificent. The boardwalk is not so good as Krka and you have to watch your step. Our guide was helpful especially when he took time with my wife on a steep climb as she has to take rest stops.

Sofia_S, May 2022
A great daytrip. I was worried that we’d have too little time in Plitvice but it was just the right amount. Our guide Igor told us about the waterfalls and lakes but also showed us flowers, trees and even som insects that we encountered along the way. He even helped me look up some Croatian poetry (thanks for that by the way!).
A must do trip
Mahmoud_E, May 2022
This trip was so great. It really exceeded my exceptions by far. The guide Tony was so informative and so supportive.
