Picked up from resort reception by our driver Lionel - he was fantastic - gave us four and a half hours tour - just the two of us - took us to almost all points of interest on the island and imparted all of the way his extensive local knowledge then delivered us back to reception.
Both the tour and Lionel could not be faulted.

I expected a group tour on a bus. We were pleasantly surprised when our tour guide Dale picked us up in a Ford Explorer and we were the only guests. We loved this more personalized tour. We were free to ask any questions at any time and if we wanted to spend a little more time in one place, we could do so without inconveniencing others. We had an excellent tour of the island and highlights were pointed out and described to us as we went. The vehicle was exceptionally clean and well maintained. Dale was friendly and knowledgeable. This tour exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it.

Winston is a star. This is a great way to see the majority of the island. Nelsons dockyard, Shirley Heights etc. You do spend most of the time driving but Winston is a source of all kinds of information.

We totally enjoyed this tour. Our guide did an outstanding job of explaining things about this lovely island. He was able to answer any questions.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better November 2016

Be ABSOLUTELY clear about where you're getting picked up we came in on a small cruise ship while two BIG ships moored at the same pier and St. Johns isn't well-equipped to take the crowd that poured into town. Taxi drivers and tour guides swarmed the area trying to get customers, including us.

Once we made contact with the tour guide, the tour was interesting and the guide was knowledgeable.
Near the end of the tour, we asked to be dropped at a 'good snorkeling beach' and that we'd make arrangements to get back to our ship.
He made a call to his 'aunt' and arranged for her to pick us up and get us back. VERY accommodating...

The beach he dropped us at was beautiful and had a small open-air restaurant but, snorkeling revealed a flat, grassy bottom with little life, jet ski hazards and not much else.

When our ride dropped us at the pier, we were charged another 32 dollars for the ride...NOT what we expected!

Do your research and pay a taxi driver 200 dollars to take you where you want to go...
