What You Can Expect

Private Custom Guided Tour with Driver for a Day

Family tour to Peterhof with a private guide

Specify your sightseeing preferences on booking, and on the day, meet your private guide and driver at your hotel at your preferred time.

Selecting what you want to see in advance will allow your guide to plan logistics and pre-book tickets so you won’t need to join lines for tickets on the day. If you have no particular sightseeing plans, your guide will craft an itinerary for you. Your guide will also recommend restaurants for lunch (own expense) should you wish. Admission fees, meals, and activities during your tour are at your expense.

Discuss your itinerary with your guide, and then hop inside your private, air-conditioned sedan or minivan (depending on group size) and begin your tour.

Depending on your interests, perhaps start with St. Petersburg’s highlights. Admire the onion-shaped domes of the Church on the Spilled Blood, and see St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the gold-domed Orthodox basilica. Then, maybe continue to the 18th-century Peter and Paul Fortress, the burial place of the Romanov tsars, or visit the Yusupov Palace, where Rasputin was murdered in 1916. If you wish, add in  a boat trip around St. Petersburg’s canals, admiring its architecture from the water.

Alternatively, devote your time to the Hermitage Museum, one of the world’s premier museums. Skip the lines with your pre-booked ticket and view some of its three million treasures, including artworks by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Monet.

Or, choose to visit the imperial palaces in and around the city. Perhaps explore the Catherine Palace, with its beautiful Amber Room, before seeing the nearby Pavlovsk Palace. Or, explore the stunning Peterhof Palace, designed by Peter the Great, and famous for its glorious fountains.

After approximately eight hours, your tour will finish with a drop-off at the St. Petersburg location of your choosing.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better September 2017

I give it 2 stars because upon pick up when I said I'd like the Catherine Palace to be the first stop, I was informed they did not pre order tickets as I did not say to do so. I told Ksenia, the booking agent, to look at the email dated July 31 our tour date was Aug. 28 that clearly states to pre order tickets. As we anxiously wait to hear if Ksenia somehow would be able to get Catherine tickets, Iliana, our tour guide, took us to Peter and Paul fortress and to the Church of the Spilt Blood. The purpose of booking the tour is for easy access and to avoid waiting in long lines for the major sightseeing areas. It was disappointing enough that we could not go to the Hermitage as it was closed. To not get in to Catherine Palace was just not acceptable. Ksenia redeemed herself and got Catherine Palace tickets but at the expense of upsetting and worrying me and of course, longer lines. Iliana was thorough in her explanations and seemed very knowledgeable. I would give Iliana 5 stars.
