What You Can Expect

2-Day St. Petersburg City and Local Culture Shore Excursion in a Small Group

The magnificent Catherine Palace in Pushkin

Day 1: St Petersburg
After pickup from your port, begin with a St Petersburg walking tour. See the major sites and historical attractions with a mini-walking tour around the city center, and enjoy plenty of photo opportunities.

Then visit St Isaac’s Cathedral with its colossal dome and peruse the local food market. Afterward, soak up some free time with lunch in one of the nearby cafes.

Then see the Hermitage Museum, one of the world's most prestigious museums, with over three million works of art. After a tour of the spectacular state and private rooms, you will be given free time to choose which areas you would like to explore.

Afterward, hop aboard your canal cruise. St. Petersburg is also called 'the Venice of the North,' and the tour includes a cruise along the River Neva and through picturesque canals.

Finish the day with a visit to the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood. This church is covered in rich, colorful decoration both inside and out. Afterward, return to your ship.

Day 2: St Petersburg
After pickup from the port, start the day with a city tour to the south. See the major sites of the palace estates including statues, monuments, rivers and canals, beautiful bridges, cathedrals and palaces, memorial squares and parks. Then see Catherine Palace, admiring the stunning, 1000-foot facade. Your tour will visit all the major halls and private rooms, and a particular highlight is the Amber Room.

Enjoy free time in the delightful, small town of Pushkin. Dine (own expense), explore, take photos, shop or stroll its manicured parks. Then drive to Peterhof to visit Peterhof Fountain Park, built to rival Versailles in France. Peter the Great designed the 300-acre landscape, and you'll stroll through the lower park.

Return to St Petersburg and take the Metro – which is an attraction in itself – to find out why it is known as the magnificent 'palace of the people.'  Afterward, return to your ship.

This tour was fantastic. So lucky with 2 days of sunshine. Our tour guide amazing. Her knowledge and English superb. Great value compared to the same tour on offer from our ship. A small group of 12 allowed us more time at sites and freedom not enjoyed by fellow ship passengers on bus tours with 50 people. St Petersburg an amazing City. No issue with visas getting off the ship. No doubt the small group the way togo. Personalized service the best. Thank you Viator.

A most memorable 2 day trip. We felt taking this tour this was the only way to see St. Petersburg in a short time and we were right. It was superb. A wonderful and knowledgeable guide made all the difference in the world.

We took this tour in August, an it was the highlight of our Baltic cruise. Before we even arrived at St Petersburg we had misplaced our invitations essential for getting through Russian border control, and phoned Viktoria who was very helpful in e-mailing replacements. We were met by Tickets and Tours staff after clearing border control, and our guide Yelena apologies if spelling isn't correct shepherded our small group of 11 to the mini-bus, and Yelena and driver Alexander gave us an excellent 2-day tour of St. Petersburg. First day we saw the Hermitage and other sights / cathedrals in the city itself including a river cruise, and a trip on the Underground, and second day we visited Catherine's palace and the amazing gardens and fountains at Peterhof. The trip was good value, our guide excellent and knowledgeable, we were given plenty of opportunity to shop at souvenir shops that had variety and were reasonably priced, and Yelena found good lunch venues for us which weren't crowded or expensive. The commentary sound individual units with earphones was good quality, and there was wi-fi on the minibus. Would recommend this tour to anyone.

This was a fabulous tour highly recommend it. Our guide, Marsha, was very experienced in the history of Russia, the politics and socio-economics of the country. She spoke several languages and answered all questions. We only had 4 in our group which was perfect.
these sites are not to be missed and a lot was crammed in to two days. I was concerned that it would be exhausting and there was some walking involved but as we were a small group we could pick and choose our itinerary to some degree.

Wow... what a trip!! The tour guide, Elena, was amazing - there wasn't anything she didn't know about St. Petersburg and was friendly and engaging. There was free wifi and water on the minibus, we saw all the sights and were taken to some excellent restaurants for lunch on both days. Great value for money, we can't recommend it highly enough.
