This was a wonderful two day tour of St. Petersburg. Since I had been there before, I was expecting to be bored. But not with the MaxiBaltTours guide. I learned more and saw more...even places I had visited before. I would give this tour Five Stars TWICE once for each day!
This was a great way to see St Petersburg without having to get a Visa. The guide was knowledgable and spoke perfect English. The included lunch on the day was adequate but going to a local cafe would have been better. We did everything that the tours booked from the cruise line did for a fraction of the cost.
Fantastic small group and a wonderful tour guide - Darcia. Very knowledgeable and lovely to share the two days with. Went out of her way to please us and even took us to a shop where when we said we needed to do some shopping. Highly recommend this tour!!!! Great tour guide and lovely tour!!!!!
Guides were excellent. Saw it all. Too many tour groups in museums but can't help that.
Our excursion, was amazing.Alexa and Veronica are truly professionals.
Our excursion was better than expected,we where delayed getting off our ship,Norweigon take there tour groups first, others in our group where from another ship. Our guide was instructed to go ahead with the others, and the owner Alexa from Baltictours picked us up and took us to meet up the group. Our tour guide Veronica was excellent with her knowledge and professionalism.
This was an amazing tour. We saw everything that was promised and more. The tour guide, Anna, was born and raised in St. Petersburg and was a joy to be with. Her knowledge of every place we visited and even the paintings in the Hermitage was extensive. We visited a Russian pie shop for lunch on the second day and had a delicious lunch and a chance to see what the locals would eat. I would recommend this tour highly.
We had a great time in Saint Petersburg. It is beautiful and this tour hit all the main sites we wanted to see. We really wanted to see the Faberge Museum and the cruise tours did not offer any tours that included this museum. I would recommend this tour if you are taking a cruise. Saved us a lot of money from cruise tours.

What a great experience, my wife and I were concerned above doing a private tour, but it was no problem. We were in a group of 6 which was just perfect. Vladimeir the driver and Veronica the guide could not have been better. Having a small group was excellent no hold ups or loosing someone it all went like clockwork. I would thoroughly recommend any one to do this
Our two days in St. Petersburg were fantastic! Guide Anna was extremely knowledegable and could answer all of our questions. Driver Vladimar was amazing even with traffic - he always seemed to find a parking place in exactly the right spot! Even though the tour could have up to 12 people, it was onloy the six of us who were traveling together. We had a private tour! I would definitely recommend this tour group anytime, and especially our guide Anna! Even though four of us had been in St. Petersburg before, we saw and learned so much more this time. Thanks for a great experience.
Excellent tour - highly recommend. A lot crammed into a two day period but well worth it. Front of the line entrance to the attractions and very knowledgeable guides. Gorgeous city, not nearly enough time but a very good start!
We booked with viator and were handed off to Maxi balt tours who then handed us off to another provider TJ Travel . Fortunately for us that tour company was terrific and handled us and all accompanying passengers very well. The guide was terrific and knowledgeable as well as organized . She managed to get us past long lines at several venues. Her personal recollections of life prior to perestroika , during and after were priceless accounts of Soviet and post soviet Russia. The tour hit all the venues mentioned and gave us time to immerse ourselves in all the grandeur of a truly lovely city.
Highly recommended. Marianna was our guide and she was fabulous. She was informative and flexible with the time which gave our small group extra time to enjoy the tour.
What a great tour! Saving us the hassle of having to get our own Visa's, and coming in at a better price than the ships excursions, we were already ahead of the game before even taking the tour. But it got much better after we started. We are a couple with two young girls ages 6 and 7 and even though they are well traveled, it can be hard for them to spend two days touring what they consider adult locations. Not on this tour. Here there was enough of a break in between sights to let them just get the wiggles out, and enough time on the bus to let them and us rest our legs. The information that was given us was fun, factual and interesting even for them. We took 2 boat trips, a ride on the metro and toured numerous palaces. In all, we hit every major area that we wanted to on our short stay. Now, i see that this tour has been amended a bit - we did not do the Faberge museum. I would highly recommend this tour if you are visiting St. Petersburg!!! We loved it.
We just returned on the 22nd August from a Celebrity Cruise to the Baltics and really enjoyed our St, Petersburg tour with Viator. We were a bit apprehensive coming off the ship that no one would be at the other side of customs but there was the guide right on time. Only problem was delay on waiting for a family from the Norwegian ship who took their time disembarking which was unfair on the rest of the minibus. W e were delayed by more than half an hour which was annoying. However our guide Mikail made sure we didnt miss out on anything. He was very informative on every place we visited and got us in everywhere without Queuing. His English was'nt brilliant but he more than made up for this with his personality. He very kindly got me a selection of Russian cigarettes for my son as I couldnt see where to buy them anywhere. He also fulfilled an American gentleman in our groups desire to have a coffee in the Astoria hotel as Hitler had planned his victory celebrations there but was defeated by the Russians. Going down the subway was an eye opener. It was so clean and warm. No tramps or beggars down here! And the beautiful mosaics were fabulous. Mikail told us lots of dates were conducted down the subway as you could stay warm down there! We were sorry we weren't staying longer as we only scratched the surface of all there was to see and do in st, Petersburg. We hope to return some day for a weeks break and take in more of this beautiful city .
Our 2 day excursion exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide, Mikhail, was superb! Would definitely recommend this tour over using the cruise line.
Expensive but well worth it. As a tour group we did get early entry into many places and looked at the massive line of people waiting to get in before the Hermitage opened. Choice picture spots were pointed out to us and the tour guide was very sincere and made us appreciate the historical background of the city. We learned so much and saw so much and the time for after lunch cat naps made us able to continue our afternoon tour-I think we clocked in 12 miles in one day! The tour guide walked comfortably with her heels while even our tennies started to feel tight! The hydro foil ride to Peterhof was cancelled due to windy conditions so the drive out was longer but we did get to stop for lunch at a mall with a huge mega supermarket-what a treat that was! The Faberge museum was wonderful and our own personal audio set made it possible to select what we wanted to see and hear about in the short time we had to visit the museum but should have left more time to visit the gift shop. Also, thanks Alexei for telling us about climbing up the dome of St Isaac's Cathedral. What an amazing city sight!
This was a great way to see St. Petersburg. There is so much to see that our guide ran us through like a herd of sheep. No bathroom breaks. Older people had a hard time keeping up. No shopping time. Run, run, run. Didn't go the second day, as we were exhausted. St. Petersburg is amazing, though.

Overall we enjoyed the trip. It could be improved by the following:
1 Less talk about Putin, as if he were the second coming of Christ.
2 Reduce the amount of fountains and icrease the amount of time in the Hermitage.
