This tour was amazing!
ABSOLUTELY excellent in every regard. We would be dropped off at the venues and our driver would go, when we were finished he would be waiting at the door for us. No long walks etc.Our guide spoke excellent english and was very knowledgeable. The two lunches we had on our two day tour were lovely and nice venues.Didnt need to get visa as they organised all that and we just walked off cruise ship and they were waiting .Cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
Excellent tour and very personable guide. Highly recommend.
Two day tour is well worth the cost to not only see exterior facades, but also inside the Hermitage, Church of the spilled blood, the castles, Rasputin's home, even the beautiful metro system, and much more. Our guide, Valerie, was very knowledgeable and hospitable. Don't visit St P without the 2 day Viatour.
Great tour that allows you to see all he important sites in St Petersburg. Our guide Yulia was outstanding.
Great tour...amazing how much information Veronica provided. Definitely recommended.
Great value, very well organized. Guide was very good, would have liked to hear about life in Russia in the present time, but the history was interesting.
Great way to see all the highlights of St Petersburg in a compact manner during a two day cruise stop. We easily identified the tour operators as we exited the pier and were led out to the lovely 16 passenger touring van. The first day was jam packed and we quickly learned our driver and tour guide were adept at getting to the front of lines and finding a way to be dropped of very close to the venues. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
Each of us was given a mobile device with an ear piece, so we could hear the guide easily. The lunch stops each day were very nice and the meal was quite adequate. We were each given a bottle of water as well.
The only problems came from the patrons themselves. Some decided they didn't want to participate in the itinerary and would rather shop the whole time. Since people without visas need to be accompanied by official guides at all times, this caused our guide to spend time making alternative arrangements. She did this very efficiently, but neverthelesss, it caused a disturbance to the tour. Others decided as the day went along, that they wanted to take an extra outing to a carnival. This again caused a disruption.
From the points of price, convenience and value, I would certainly recommend these small group tours for cruise passengers. I would encourage the tour operators to give better information prior to the tour as to what exactly the participants will need for documentation and the fact that the tour ticket is you vis as well.
Excellent tour, with Veronika. We had a slight blip when getting off the ship as we made good time through passport control and were out by 7:15, and there was no sign of maxibalti until after 7:30 by which time we were worrying as the other tour companies were all very visible. When they did turn up, we were transported to another part of the port to meet the rest of the group there was 16 of us in total. They were not so lucky getting through passport control and we ended up waiting until after 9am which was frustrating. But that was the only blip in an otherwise splendid tour. It might appear expensive at first glance, but considering it includes the minibus and driver, tour guide, all attraction entrance costs, two boat trips and lunch on both days, it really is first class value.
Worth being aware the weather in st Petersburg is VERY changeable and the rain when it comes is hurricane proportions. Take a waterproof and umbrella. Also a very full on trip, loads of walking trainers would be very sensible and very little time to pick up any drinks or snacks on route. There's also very little opportunity for any shopping, but they do try to arrange a stop at a tourist shop.
St Petersburg has so much to offer and this tour gave us an opportunity to see as much as we could in the limited time we had in port. Our guide, Marina, was incredibly knowledgable about the history and art all around the city. She was very willing to accommodate any requests and truly knew the best way to see everything. Being such a small group we had 11 people allowed us to see so much, compared to the huge groups of 50 people. The optional folk show after the first day of the tour was fantastic! This tour really provided a great overview of some of St Petersburg's major sites.
