Make your way to dock at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef to board the 54-foot (16-meter) 'Cat' for your 3-hour sailing and snorkeling excursion.

Find a comfortable spot on deck in the sun or shade. Meet the friendly captain and crew as you sail into the azure waters and watch the shoreline of St Thomas recede. On your way to the uninhabited Buck Island National Wildlife Refuge's Turtle Cove, get fitted for a snorkel, mask and flippers if you're interested in snorkeling. Alternatively, you can choose to lounge on board the boat or take a swim.

When you arrive at your destination, don your equipment and dive in. Admire multicolored coral reefs, inhabited by an abundance of tropical fish. Watch the Virgin Island's resident Green Sea Turtles gliding along, munching on the plentiful sea grasses.

After snorkeling, climb back on the catamaran for snacks and drinks - fruit and vegetables, water, a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic cocktails, wine and beer. Relax on the way back to the dock, enjoying the Caribbean sun and breeze.

Finish your tour after 3 hours and walk away with a complimentary pirate temporary tattoo to show for it.

Everything was on point with the description of the excursion. Had a good group of crew to tend our needs. Saw turtles, fish and sea urchins. 45 min out to sea to do snorkeling, one hour in the water, about an hour boat ride back. Transportation is not included. From WICO to the cove, takes about 8 min by taxi. $6 per person, one way. Make sure to ask your driver to come back and pick you up. This is rather remote location. Will be hard to grab a taxi. Had fun.

Great tour - very well organized and seeing the turtles up close was an amazing experience. Just the right amount of time as well - and the rum punch was delicious!!

This tour was one of the best run catamaran rides my husband and I have ever gone on. It was the first for our kids, 15 and 18 yrs - both of which who really enjoyed it. The staff themselves were extremely professional and not only interacted with everyone but also took more safety measures than we have seen before in past excursions. For example, drinking was not allowed until after the snorkeling and when we all got back on the boat, before they left the island all four staff members counted everyone on the boat to ensure that they all came up with the same number. Also, on the way to Buck island, they all went to separate parts of the boat and sat with passengers guests to tell us all about the islands surrounding us on the way. The snorkeling itself was also amazing as we not only saw great coral and fish but also got to see large sea turtles and swim close to them when they took a breath. It was a wonderful trip and we all had a great time.

Captain Ryan and his crew Mason, Jodie, and Cane did a great job making us feel at home. Mason led our snorkel tour and was able to point out several fish and coral I might not have otherwise noticed. We saw plenty of turtles and rays and had the time of our lives! Great for kids loved every minute of it.

I had a great experience on this tour. The captain and crew were courteous and very helpful. We had a great ride over to the snorkeling site and spent about 90 min. in the water and enjoyed a relaxing catamaran ride back to the dock with lots of rum punch flowing. I would highly recommend Captain Joe and his crew for your next snorkeling adventure.

Great sail, great snorkeling, great fun! The crew really take care of you throughout the entire experience. The sail back was also nice with all the complimentary snacks and drinks. You can't go wrong with this trip.

The VI Cat's Captain Joe and crew were professional and attentive to the safety of all passengers, and ran the excursion on time. The catamaran left the dock promptly at 1pm and returned about 4:30pm.

Only a couple turtles were in the cove, and there weren't that many fish to see. There was also some interesting coral.

Be aware that there are many stairs to walk down to get to the dock area where the Cat leaves from. If you have mobility issues, ask the Frenchman's Reef Information Desk if there is an easier way down if there's another way, it wasn't obvious. Some people were struggling on the stairs.

A must do if you want to be in the water and up close and personal with the beautiful sea turtles, as well as other fishes too. The Cat crew is outstanding and took great care of everyone. Served chips, fresh fruit, rum and other drinks after the snorkeling while you relaxed on the slow sail back to St. Thomas. Overall Beautiful, fun, amazing trip. Highly recommended.
