What To Expect
Following pickup at Stockholm's cruise port, board a comfortable tour bus for a scenic ride through downtown Stockholm. Depending on the location of your ship's dock (Frihamnen or Stadsgården) get views of Södermalm, Djurgården, or Gärdet. If you arrive at Nynäshamn, the bus will take you into the city (45 minutes approx.) Take a guided tour of the Vasa Museum, home to the world's best-preserved 17th-century warship, which sat on the floor of Stockholm Harbor for more than 300 years. Resume the scenic drive through the city, making stops at Riddarholmen Island and Fjällgatan. See the Royal Opera, the Palace, the Parliament Building, and other highlights, as well as the scenic Strandvägen and tony Östermalm. In Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town, disembark for a walking tour. Wind through the medieval town's narrow alleyways to see landmarks such as Järnpojk and Storkyrka. Once your tour winds down, spend some free time window shopping or grabbing a bite to eat before returning to the port.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

Stockholm has such great things to see, and some of them are included on this tour, but unfortunately I didn't care for our guide. Her name was Natasha and she didn't tell us any anecdotal stories to make it interesting like a lot of guides do. She mentioned that she didn't want to fill us up with too many dates and statistics, so much of the time she didn't talk. But she wasn't shy to say that she didn't trust our Russian bus driver, not because she knew him to be untrustworthy, but simply because he was Russian. That was one item she should have kept to herself.
This was a great tour, Mona was awesome tour guide. The Vasa Museum was amazing- so interesting. Walking tour of the historic area was informative and interesting architecture. Just wish this tour was longer so we could have explored the water front areas a little more. Stockholm is a beautiful city-- we didn't realize how gorgeous it was and we wish we had a lot more time to explore there, but this was a wonderful overview.
Guide was there to meet us as we got off the ship. Vehicle was very comfortable. Guide was terrific in telling us all sorts of details and history. Well worth the money. I highly recommend Viator. This was the 6th or 7th Viator excursion we've been on. Each and every one was great and extremely interesting. We will keep using Viator in mind as we travel the globe..
The Vasa Museum is a must see-excellent background on the Viking ship. Also, Gamlastan Old Town beautiful old architecture. Don't miss changing of the guards at the palace, Armory Museum was excellent, and have a brew at the Hairy Pig Deli - quaint pub. The tour gave us a general snapshot of the area driving by some major attractions ie. Abba museum, etc. Would recommend this itinerary if you've not been to Stockholm.
The tour guide was singularly unenthusiastic, and her people management skills were quite deficient. We were not that big a group, but she did not do a good job of keeping people together, or making sure everyone could hear and/or see her. We took group tours in 4 places altogether on this trip, and this one was the least impressive. It's a shame too, because the Vasa ship museum is truly remarkable.
Nice sized group on a dreary day made Stockholm come alive. It's a beautiful city! Too bad we awere only in port 65 hours. The tour guide spoke fluent English but she talk off walking fast and at times I felt I might get lost in the crowds. Well worth the dollars spent though.
