Very nice trip to see the local animals. Tour provides a wonderful picnic dinner featuring Swedish favorites including Swedish fish. Our tour guide was terrific and personable. He made sure that we were comfortable and spoke effectively about the flora and fauna of the local area. He did a great job spotting animals for us too. The touring van was in top notch condition, it was just my wife and I and the guide/driver. We had 2 full days in Stockholm and wanted to see some of the area outside the city. this tour accomplished that and more.
A refreshing trip out of the city. Our guide met us promptly, and we loaded up and drove about 20 minutes into the countryside. Our first stop was for a delicious feast of Swedish specialties- and they even catered to those of us who were Gluten Free! Then we were all provided with binoculars and instructions on how to look for moose. We drove through lovely farm areas, looking in Rapeseed fields, and finally spotted a moose. We also saw Roe deer, hares, cranes, swans, and a hawk. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a love of the animals and the forests. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Sweden.
This was one of the best tours I've been on, even in the rain! We had a traditional Swedish picnic and tried some new foods. The guide was very knowledgeable and made sure that we saw all the wildlife possible on a rainy evening.
Very fantastic n true nature excursion. Tour operator is very co -operating n creative, saw real forest n wild life of Sweden. Feel of countryside n ride in Sweden historic places was also fine. Definitely a must for every nature lover
It's was the epic tour. We saw every thing: Moose, Rain dears, Wild pigs and even a small little Bamby.
My advice, get a good Camara with zoom and have your allergy bills ready since :)
Nice change of pace. Our guide, Hannah, was great. Saw deer, boar, moose, a rune, and the beautiful countryside.

We were lucky and saw a good bit of wildlife on our tour. Our guide, Hanna, was very knowledgeable about the areas we visited and and the animals that we saw. It was surprising how much wildlife is close to the city of Stockholm.

Nice to get out of city and see the countryside. Saw wild blue berries and lingonberries, and a couple of Viking stone monuments. Midsummer picnic. Only one moose, but at least 15 deer.
We were very lucky to see 10 Moose even though it was getting pretty dark for the last 6. It was pretty amazing. The Swedish meal was great and my gluten free requirement was catered for with no problem. Only one criticism was that the bus windows were dirty and since you are looking for Moose in near darkness in the distance from inside a small bus/people mover this was surprising and a little disappointing. Otherwise a great tour and great value for money.
Fine tour and several sightings of moose, wild boar, roe deer, hare/rabbit. Knowledgeable guide who also was a careful, smooth driver, with an able assistant. Pleasant midsummer meal and good companion guests on the tour. Altogether an interesting, fine evening out, giving an indepth view of Swedish wildlife and their care for the countryside.
Was quite fun to go out to the woods and see all the animals including moose and boar. The dinner wasn and #39;t good if you and #39;re not a meat eater. It started and ended later than necessary. The tour guides were interactive and full of information. Unfortunately there are no opportunities for toilettes.
We had a great time on the tour. We stopped for Fika coffee and sweets at a small picnic area. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did her best to make sure we saw animals. Highlight of the trip was seeing a moose and being able to get out and get some photos of it in the field. Great experience!
I enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was difficult to take good pictures with a normal camera since most of the animals came out after twilight. We did see wildlife though.
We were intrigued by the idea of getting into the Swedish countryside in hopes of seeing moose. Our guide was great and very knowledgeable .. unfortunately she could not produce a moose for us that night. Midsummer dinner authentic. Suggestion: even with small group of 5, a microphone in van needed
OK. Could have been better for the price if the wildlife expert had not been sick. The meal was good and a lot of fun. More information, a bit of a bush walk and explosion about plants and animals such as eating , breeding , berries edible in the forest etc. Sadly only deer around for our trip. No Moose .
Disappointed in the limited wildlife, which I know you can't control or guarantee. Would start a half hour earlier at 8:00 instead of 8:30. By the last hour or so of the tour it was not light enough to be worth being out there. Guide brough coffee and snacks, which was a very nice touch. But the snacks were the huge muffins like we have in the US. I wanted some authentic Swedish pastries and/or cookies, not US stuff!
This is a good tour if you want to see everything in a day.. if not I find this tour abit too rush.. There was no time for photographs at all.. they just go thru every site in a flash and explain to you as you walk through.. so basically if you want to take some photos for yourselves, it would be difficult. Good for those who only want to see and hear :)
Trip was focused on seeing target megafauna - in that respect it was very successful. Elk - about ten, some within 100 meters. Feral pigs - a mom and 3 young quite close, plus others. A fox. Various roe deer, a life species for us.
The first stop muffins were a nice touch, but having only coffee w at least 3 tea drinkers out of 7 participants was not.
The small group size (7) was ideal - the minivan w tinted windows made it difficult to see - this was, after all, a tour from 8:30 pm to midnight.
The tour guide was sweet, and knew where to find the animals - but she really didn't know all that much about them or their habitat/characteristics/etc. e.g., are these elk same species as those found in North America?
All in all, it was pleasant, and I expect those interested primarily in seeing the afore-mentioned animals would rate it higher. We're spoiled from many tours led by professional naturalists, so read this review w that caveat.
This was a nice trip but did only saw 4 animals. The guide was very knowledgable.
So, so. Didn't see enough local wildlife -- mostly small deer which I can see in New York.
The guide was very nice and quite informative and the outdoor picnic was tasty but I do think this tour is massively overpriced for the content. There were 8 of us on the tour all paying around 114 per head presumeably - overheads for 1 guide, mini bus and inexpensive picnic content made it seem a bit of a rip off to be honest. Also I know the wildlife cannot be quaranteed but on a 4 hour tour we literally saw a couple of moose for 30 seconds so far away you wouldn't know what they were, then a few roe deer and one fox. We didn't do a 15 minute trek into the forest as advertised and nor did we visit the ancient runes, so all in all pretty underwhelmed and certainly felt we did not get our money's worth.
I'll start by saying our tour guide was actually really lovely, so the review should reflect on her. The actual tour was really disappointing and so expensive for what we got. I had thought there would be some walking/exploring in a more rural environment. That's not the case. We were in a mini van driving up and down a road looking into farm land with binoculars. I was unlucky enough to have a middle seat at the back of the van, which meant that I had to attempt to look between other people's heads and the head rest using binoculars to see anything. We only got out at one point. Mainly saw deer and hares, which is not a novelty being from New Zealand.
Just be informed that this is driving in a van up and down farm land. Not walking in bush. No photo opportunities. And avoid the middle seats!
