What To Expect

Begin your morning or afternoon Alsace wine tour in Strasbourg, where you’ll meet your guide and climb into an awaiting 8-passenger minivan. Travel along a gorgeous road known locally as the Route des Vins d’Alsace, or the Alsace Wine Route. Follow this 105-mile (170 km) route as it winds through rolling hills near the Vosges Mountains through land that contains hundreds of famous Alsatian wineries.

The first stop on your tour is in the town of Obernai, with its characteristic German-style half-timbered buildings and pretty cobblestoned streets. Join your guide for a walking tour of the town, ending at a local winery to sample some of the region’s wine.

Find out how the soil, climate, and sun combine to create the perfect conditions under which the Alsace region produces world-renowned white wines. Taste most of the seven grape varietals that are grown in the area, including gewürztraminer and Riesling, noting how complex and different the flavors can be.

Get back on the Alsace Wine Route to end up at your next stop, a wine tasting in a classic Alsatian wine cellar (caveau). Find out why cellars such as this provide the ideal environment for the aging and storing of wine.

After the visit to the wine cellar, enjoy the scenery out of the minivan windows as you make your way back to Strasbourg.

Driving through the small...
Valerie_M, Dec 2022
Driving through the small villages was wonderful. The wine was delightful, too! Our guide, Florence, was so nice and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the tour very much and would recommend it to anyone wanted to see the area & interested in trying the wines of the region.

Informative and fun afternoon !
Dorothy_C, Sep 2022
This tour was very informative. Florence is very knowledgeable about wine, the plants, the grape varieties, and had a great sense of humor. She was great! We were met on time at the pickup location. We laughed a lot because there just happened to be 5 of us from the same small state in New England, USA,and the other couple was also from the East coast. The wines were very good, the owners welcoming and eager to teach us about their wines and winery. It was havest time and they were actually filling a barrel at the time of our visit to the cellar, which was pretty cool! We definitely recommend this trip if you only have a few hours,we went to 2 wineries and up to the grape fields where she showed us the different varieties of grapes.

A great tour! We stopped at 2 villages and tried some white wines (and a red or two). The guide was friendly and told us a bit about the villages and the history. Overall it was a morning well-spent.
Definitely recommend

The most generous wine tasting ever😚 Had a chance to try a real variety of Alsacian wines and our guide Laurent was very knowledgeable in wine and history of the region and was so much fun!
Afternoon well spent
Margaret_K, Jul 2022
I travelled solo but a family on holiday booked the same tour. There was good conversation, good wine, a knowledgable tour guide/driver, and pleasant wine growers. We enjoyed sitting in the air conditioned car between wineries while the tour guide shared info about the region and its history, specifically its wine history. Easy to book, pleasant experience, would recommend.
Great tour

Really enjoyed spending the afternoon trying wine & getting to know others on our group. I liked that this was a small group tour. Our guide, Jeremie, was very nice and recommended restaurants for us on our request!
Great tour
Vladimir_M, Jul 2022
Very informative and entertaining tour. About wine, of course, but also about culture, history, culinary, and local ways of live. And Florence was amazing.
A lovely afternoon

Alsace wines and more with Florence
Kevin_F, Jun 2022
Our tour guide/sommelier Florence was amazing!! She was knowledgeable in so many ways history, the Alsace regions and truly a wine expert plus Alsatian cuisine. The stop in Odenai was nice and getting a glimpse of a stork nest on the roof was fascinating. The 1/2 day event was perfect and We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend especially having Florence as a guide. Truly a wonderful experience with great wines and winery hosts!! Shelley & Kevin
Highly recommend!

LOVED this tour! Pauline was great and knowledgeable. We visited two vineries and tasted about 14 delicious wines from Alsace. The scenery was stunning, people so kind and generous, and the whole experience was something we would do over again. Highly recommend.
Fun and educational wine tasting in Strasbourg, France
Mary_R, Jun 2022
Florence met us right on time in front of a hotel in Strasbourg. She was bright and friendly and had a very nice minivan. There were 4 in our party, and another three people joined us. We visited two wineries. Florence actually poured the wine and described the vintage. She's very knowledgeable. We had a great time. We could have done a similar tour with Viking, but opted to join a smaller group on our own.
Great wine tasting experience in Alsace
Vladimir_b, Jun 2022
The half day wine tasting was a really great experience. Our guide Robin was awesome! Kind and funny person who knows a lot about wines and culture/history. The two locations we visited were great. So much background informations about wine and growing. Highly recommended trip!!
We enjoyed the wine tasting at both wineries. But, it should be known that this is exclusively a winetasting. It is not
BRIAN_D, May 2022
We enjoyed the wine tasting at both wineries. But, it should be known that this is exclusively a winetasting. It is not a scenic drive in the countryside.
Marc_S, May 2022
Second site with winemaker was the best. Very good wine. Driver Robin also very good knowledge of wine
