Escape the crowds of the Gold Coast and journey inland on this serene evening adventure. After pickup at your Gold Coast hotel in a luxury 4WD vehicle, wind your way up to the summit of Mt Tamborine. Along the way, stop at a lookout for spectacular views of the coastline and ocean awash in the colors of sunset.

Get a taste of Mt Tamborine’s summit scene with a light supper at a local café. Snack on homemade cakes and biscuits served with your choice of tea, cappuccino or steaming hot chocolate.

As light fades from the sky, follow your guide on a nighttime bushwalk through the surrounding subtropical rain forest. Equipped with a low-wattage torch, experience the magic as nocturnal creatures emerge from the darkened forest. Your guide will lead the way with a high-powered LED torch for a better view of native flora and fauna. Veer off a secret path that leads to an enchanting waterfall illuminated by the light of a glowworm colony. Enjoy the silence and serenity of the forest as you admire this natural phenomenon.

After walking back to the 4WD vehicle, relax on the return ride to the Gold Coast, where your tour concludes in the late evening.

The tour guide Andrew was great. He was knowledgeable and easy liking guy who made the tour an enjoyable experience for everyone. He is well suited to his job. The walk down to the glow worms and back again was easy, even for those those who were unfit. It was disappointing that the worms were not very illuminated but this could not be helped by any one except the worms themselves. The added element of having dessert before seeing the worms were a nice touch and all the group praised them. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Waterfall when lit up by torch light was nice,tho advertised would see waterfall illuminated by glow worms. Tour guide informative and funny. No 4WD which was not there fault. Didn't get out at a lookout out. I feel the whole advertisement of the tour was misleading

Hi Linda, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review about our Glow Worm Tour. Your feedback is always welcomed as we wouldn't be able to improve on our tours without it. It is regrettable that with the wet weather, we were unable to do any off-roading that night and therefore also missed out on the lookout which is located on that track. It also sounds as though the Glow Worms were not as bright as some nights, but as they are wild animals and can be unpredictable, we cannot guarantee what will be seen on each tour. As you can see by our reviews this is a very popular and well-loved tour with our delicious dessert, guided rainforest walk & getting up close to glow worms in the rainforest, so I am sorry to read that it did not hit the mark with you this time. Wonderful wildlife tour led by Tapio, a biologist doing research at a local University. He was incredibly knowledgeable in all things Australian wildlife, beyond animals, with extensive information on plants, habitats, and environmental changes. The reviews are correct in explaining this is a lesisurely tour to seek out wildlife. It is not a series of rainforests hikes or uphill climbs. It is a slow and calme expert-guided expedition of easily traversed terrain in the search of some of Australia's native creatures. If you are interested in discovering these creatures in their natural habitat outside of the confines of a zoo and understanding their ecosystem, this is a wonderful tour!
